How's everyone?  Heart-shaped pizza tonight followed by the kids' string orchestra concert.  ExH being ridiculous as usual.  Glad we are approaching the weekend as it's been a week.

    Didn’t sleep much last night and H and I had a tiff this morning. My cat is being a jerk and peeing on the floor. H is understandably frustrated about it but he’s being obnoxious to me about it. He’s snippy and a bit rude and then gets really impatient with M. I can usually let it go but after being up all night I had enough.

    My mom is coming over today so hopefully I can nap soon.

    @charlotte989875 has your cat done this before? If he hasn’t it’s worth a visit to the vet. Peeing outside of the litterbox can be a sign of an infection like UTI or other illness. 

    Today is going to be long. Work doesn’t know it yet but I’m leaving after the morning so i can take my grandmother to the ER. Her leg looks worse and she’s finished the antibiotics and has already gotten an injectable antibiotic. I would have just called off last night but I feel like the optics of Valentine’s Day wouldn’t have looked good. I wish it was Friday.

    Good morning.  I had about 5 secs to breathe and it's on to the next with work.  I don't mind being busy, but I am glad I made this weekend a 4-day weekend.  :)

    @charlotte989875, I hope your H chills out.  Do you all know why the cat is peeing on the floor?  Not to be an alarmist but if it's new behavior, they might need to see a vet.  Or if you all happened to have changed the litter brand, it may not like the way the new stuff feels on their paws.

    My first day back working in the office since last week.  I caught up on my sleep a little last night, but not enough.  I'm still pretty tired and waiting for the end of the day.  Which is a long way off, lol.  But I'm with @ei34, at least the weekend is almost here!

    Still feeling like absolute crap. I've taken a million Covid tests and they're all negative, but this is lingering for day 6 now. Hoping to be just responsive enough at work that no one bugs me, otherwise i may take a sick half-day and just sleep this afternoon. Working from the couch in the meantime. 

    Need to make a dentist appt for N. He fell and cut his lip open a few weeks ago, that healed fine, but all of a sudden one of his front teeth is tinged pretty gray and he's been complaining that brushing teeth hurts. IT's a baby tooth, so hopefully nothing major, but want to get it checked out. 

    I ordered a bunch more dresses to try on for that gala next weekend. The options i have are fine, i'd like to feel a little more glam. picking up a couple tomorrow and the rest should come early next week.

    Definitely possible. I haven't gone for a flu test, but masking and staying home and treating symptoms.

    FWIW it's what we do now if a fever lingers.  Last week Chiquita had a fever and sore throat and I had her tested for all the things so then we could be prepared.    She and Chiquito both had something random and viral but especially as we deal with some infusion timing I'm in the better to be safe than sorry stage.

    I wasn't going to put in my two weeks because the new job still has to check my references but ... one of the reasons I was leaving was because my job is stable but I suspected they would get rid of someone else and have me take on more duties.  I've heard whispers.  Which they just announced today that someone I work with closely is being let go.  So I told them that they really shouldn't put all their eggs in my basket and they should keep her.  So I'm hoping they listen and I save one of my colleague's jobs.  
    That is great news!!!!  Hopefully the new company gets their background/reference check done quickly, so you can put in your two weeks.  Crossing my fingers for your coworker that the timing works out.

    I got lucky earlier in my job.  Times were slow.  Layoffs were going on.  I was still doing procurement and my part of steel, but it wasn't much.  I even got trained to do some Doc Control duties for more billable hours, which I was very grateful for but didn't like.  Then the other person in steel admin got his dream job and put in his 2-week notice.  Yyyesssss!  By totally taking over the steel admin work, my job became more secure and the rest is history.

    My new keyboard is in and this is wild.  I'm actually already typing faster and I was already around 88-95wpm (depending on what I'm doing).  My hands are super tired, but this does seem to be far more comfortable.

    There are some keys that just feel weird.  Also, there's actual dedicated cut, copy, and paste keys, so I can stop stretching my hand so weirdly, but that is going to take time.  I'm going to try and train myself to use the left thumb space bar, but I'm just not sure if I can actually do that after almost 20 years of muscle memory behind nothing but the right thumb.  Though I did notice that with PC gaming, I do use my right thumb for the space bar, so it's there.  The pink key is for the backlights, but apparently I can reprogram it back to an ESC key and I might have to do that.

    I wanted to go see Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon at the movie theatre tonight.  However, I had a man hitting on me in the lobby and elevator.  I wasn't uncomfortable until I realize he now knew where I worked (the firm name is viewable when the elevator opens), the floor I worked on (he got off after me), and he had asked me what i was doing tonight and I stupidly told him.  IDK, I'm uncomfortable now and I have some last details to plan on the party and I'm going to do that and some WFH instead.

    My UPS and FedEx driver do NOT like me right now.  I've gotten an irresponsible amount of boxes for the last two weeks and it's not stopping until after the party. It's going to be so much fun though.

    I don't think I posted, but I received my boudoir photos finally.  I"m glad I did it and the experience was worth it and feedback has been great.  Having said all of that, I don't know that I would do it again and they are hard for me to look at and enjoy.  I just really struggle with finding myself an attractive person and it's weird to look at the woman in that photo and realize it's me.

    I'm so glad tomorrow is Friday.
