Wedding Woes

Monday

The weekend was good, but too short.  I'd give up a lot to get 4 day weeks, 10 hours work days, to have 3 day weekends.  There's never enough time to do all the things I need to make my work week go smoothly and have some relaxation.  I tried real hard this week though.

Saturday I watched the Grand Prix and after that I went to my bedroom and read all day.  Then took a hard 3 hour nap.  Had a friend come over to listen to a new album which was all messed up, and that was annoying.  Setting up the return today.  FYI:  Neil Gaman and a string quartet did an album called, "Signs of Life" that is so magnificent.  Sunday was meal prep.  I also binged The Irrational.  That show is the definition of bi-panic, literally everyone is incredibly attractive.  I love detective shows of almost any kind and I'm willing to forgive a lot, so it was mindless entertainment.  I also watched the premier of Elsbeth and that one is definitely going to scratch the itch of quirky detective show, though I hope the writing gets better quickly.  I also discovered there's 10 seasons of the OG Law and Order on Peacock, so I'm happy about that!

How was everyone else's weekend?

Re: Monday

  • Weekends always go by quickly.  I can’t remember what I did on Friday, so probably nothing.  Saturday I got my tat! But omg I was sitting upright on a tattoo chair made for back tats and my back was killing me.  Homegirl has her own shop now and NEEDS to invest in an actual tattoo recliner. I don’t know how I managed almost 3 hours in it.  And as it turns out she had to split it up anyway and now I can’t show it off until the shading/color gets added, which is the star of the show.
The chair looked like this but the seat was like 5x thinner, and no head rest - you had to actually put a pillow behind your head! It was so uncomfortable.  She has had her own shop since November now. And even before that I think she rented out booth space at the old shop and could have brought one in. Like… really?
Sunday was an awesome oscars party at my friend’s place.  I had a really good time at that and made barbie shots (vanilla vodka, watermelon pucker & sweet n sour mix). She told me and everyone attending to dress up if they wanted to (I had a nice top/pants picked out but then changed it last minute). Only 4 of the12 of us did! My dress wasn’t uncomfortable so I didn’t really care.  It was a fancier looking summer dress.  I didn’t get home till 10:35 and in bed till 11:30 so ugh!

  • @CharmedPam that looks like a torture device.  There is no way I could've sat in that as you're describing.
  • Weekend was okay overall.

Friday night BK was sick in bed. Change sheets, back to sleep.
Saturday morning she was up early, but I sent her back to sleep.

Going to disney on ice, she puked in parking lot.
    Never fever, never clammy etc.
Masked her and us to be safe - because unfortunately we were in the parking lot and that would have caused worse issues.
BK was fine after, just tired.

Disney on Ice was truly magical. We did character experience and I'm so glad. It was really good. I expected just line and pictures with Anna and Elsa, but they had a little event. Drinks, sing along, etc.
I'm glad I spent the money on it.
But I also *spent the money* for the main even tickets.
WE WERE RIGHT BESIDE THE ICE!! Characters would come and interact - BK high fived Kristoff and Olaf said hi to her 2x
It was truly disney magic at work.

She crashed early, and unfortunately, she coughed in bed and brought up the crackers.

She slept in on Sunday luckily, and since then no issues. I think it was a minor bug, but who knows.

She's at IL's tonight and tomorrow since it's march break this week.
  • That’s terrible @charmedpam I would have cried from sitting in that, not the tattoo pain!

I binged The Irrational too @VarunaTT! I love Jesse L Martin so much!
  • Weekend was good! I saw a play with my best friend Saturday afternoon! We had lunch then the show and I still got to bed at my early time. Sunday was swim and cousins.

H is in week two of the offsite and tonight is a dinner too so I’m doing dinner and bed alone. Wish me luck!

That’s the thing! The needle was fine.  I was surprised at that part.  It was the chair that was painful!

I want to see a few movies from the Oscars. I was told Poor Things wasn’t that good so I need to test that for free..:: lol

That chair is terrible @CharmedPam!  Yay for a magical Disney on Ice experience @MissKittyDanger

It's showdown week (what we call battle of the classes/grades) here and today is pajama day...after a groggy daylight savings I'm thrilled to be comfy today.  Even if I ran to Old Navy on my lunch to pick up an online order and I know I looked ridiculous lol.  Quiet night this evening and thankful for it.
  • I love that for her @MissKittyDanger

    today’s LOL

  • @VarunaTT I really liked Irrational too. Have you watched Found? It is good. I hope they are both picked up for a second season.
  • @ILoveBeachMusic I was googling about The Irrational for an unrelated reason and it has been picked up for a 2nd season.  I'll check out Found, thank you!  I just love procedural shows, they're definitely my weakness.  I'll even watch bad ones.

I'm such a dumbass, lol.  I read this and was thinking, "I like those too!  I need to find out more about this show."  Because I had vaguely heard of it, but didn't know what it was.

So I Googled it.  Then realized that I have totally watched this show and just hadn't remembered the name, lol.  Oh yeah!  The show with the actor from Law and Order.

To be fair to myself, I binged a few episodes one weekend so it hasn't been a regular part of my tv watching yet.  But I also really liked it.

Last weekend, I discovered a series called "I Survived a Serial Killer".  I like those real crime shows and this is an especially interesting one.  But oof!  I need to be careful not to watch more than 1-2 episodes at a time.  Even though it's about survivors, it is terrifying, dark stuff.
