Happy Birthday @ei34!  I'm glad you had a great weekend.

We had a good weekend too.  Saturday was low key at home.  Caught up on naps and laundry.  It was gray and rainy.  Sunday we went to church and then took DH's 2 sisters and an adult niece up to see his other sister who is in a care center.  It was a beautiful day for a drive.  Unfortunately, she decided she didn't want to get out of bed so we couldn't sit outdoors.  We had storms overnight.  We got about 1" of rain but no hail.  West of here had quarter-sized hail and I'm sure there is property damage from that.

Busy week at work but not many appointments or things at home.  I need to spend some time with my mom.  It's been awhile.

  • Busy weekend!

Friday night Chiquito's baseball team won their playoff game.  We have the final game tonight!

Saturday we started the day with Chiquita's soccer game and then I took her shopping for summer shoes she needs while DH took Chiquito to a Cub Scout climbing course event.  We grilled at the marina and chilled out at the end of the day.  Sunday was church, Chiquito had soccer try outs and then had a friend over while I did ALL the laundry.

DH has officially been scheduled for an endoscopy.  It isn't until the end of the summer but I'm glad it's progress.

    Happy birthday @ei34
  • @ei34, Happy late birthday!  I'm glad you had a good weekend for it.

@MNNEBride, I saw your post on Friday.  Congrats on the prestigious award!

@VarunaTT, it was great to see an update from you.  I'm sorry you are still on the job hunt and hope you find an awesome job soon.  Congrats on staying away from the alcohol, even if that means losing touch with a couple friends.

I got an unexpected check in the mail today for $118.63!  Woo hoo!  It was from a Hello Fresh class action lawsuit that I don't even remember signing up for.

I had to look it back up to see what it was about.  It was because they were calling people after being told to stop.  Why, yes!  They did that to me also.  I tried them once, so was a former customer.  Hated way too many things and cancelled a short while later.

At first, I was nice about it and asked them to put me on their "Do Not Call" list, because I didn't like their food service and would never be a customer again.  But they continued to call me.  Back then, I think I had an old phone that didn't have caller id and I also couldn't block numbers.

I wish every company who psycho/spam called me more than once had to pay me $118.  I could retire by now.

My neighbor and good friend came back from her 3-week sailing trip, so we caught up on Friday.  It wasn't quite as glamorous as it sounds, lol.  She was part of a 4-person crew, including the owner, that was moving the boat from L.A. to Costa Rica because he was retiring there.

She's the one who works in tv/film production, but is in-between jobs at the moment.

She was glad she went but, long story short, it wasn't as fun as she was expecting.  She thought they were going to be mostly sailing instead of motoring, but it was the other way around.  She was told they'd be spending 2-3 days in each port, but it was only overnight if that.  She hadn't met the owner ahead of time and ended up really disliking him.  He was a grown-ass man in his 70s, but would throw actual temper tantrums if things didn't go perfectly.  And they aren't going to with a trip like this.

But the sea was beautiful.  The weather was great.  She also saw a lot of sea life.  She also wants to take more longer trips like this when she retires, so it was good experience on someone else's dime.  Plus she was paid a stipend.

  • Happy Birthday @ei34

Weekend was pretty low key - which was very much needed. Yesterday was gray and dreary so spent most of the day curled up on the screened porch couch with the pup after church. Saturday was working out and just doing some stuff around the house.

H had a procedure this afternoon as a follow up on his fall a couple of weeks ago that ended up revealing cysts in his kidneys. Thankfully, all is clear. We are home now, and he is just taking it easy for the rest of the day.

    Happy belated @ei34!
funny you mentioned hellofresh @short+sassy, I just quit homechef because the produce doesn’t even last a day now, and was going to try hellofresh again (it’s been years) but then homechef wanted me back with a heavy discount on the boxes.  I just have to be careful what I order.  No tomatoes, cucumbers or green beans.  Those seem to be bad upon arrival.
Congrats on the work acknowledgement @MNNEBride
    @VarunaTT keep on keeping on!

Weekend was so busy.  Friday I saw my idol and stood like 5 feet away from her.  It was seriously the best day of my life! Tim McGraw was good too - but I heart Carly Pearce.  I’ll attach the vip session we had.  She did 2 acoustics, and 10 Q & A’s. About 1/2 hour and there were probably 50 of us in the room.
Saturday I saw Beautiful:Carol King musical and it was fantastic.  The rest of the weekend was housework.  Booo. Who told me to own a house?

DD and SIL went to the Tim McGraw concert. Haven't talked to her to see how they liked it. H and I have seen Beautiful three times I think. Once in Chicago and twice in Indy. I love that show. We know all the songs! I'm such a musical fan. That's so cool that you had that VIP experience.
  • My mom LOVED Carole King and one of the last shows I went to with her was Beautiful.  I love that show so much.  If it ever comes back, I'd see it again.  I was so impressed to learn how many songs she'd had a hand in.

I constantly am too.  I listened to her station on amazon on the way home and I’m like “ooooh I forgot she did the Gilmore Girls theme song!”
My other season subscription has Beautiful again next year.  Different cast of course/
