I am!
I got some good news at work that I'm excited about. My role is in a weird spot because it's not enough work in the long term to hire a f/t person. But it's too much for one mere mortal, ie just me, to manage.
My boss had asked me to get in touch with a couple of employees that I have trained in the past. But they are both too busy with their main jobs to give me help.
I then offered to work some OT hours to try and make more progress. In the past and with my former manager, that was verboten unless it was an emergency.
But my current boss gave me the green light! He said I could work as much OT as I wanted, until they arrange some p/t help. He said he is putting the word out to department managers to see if they have anyone with extra time. I know it's mean. But I hope everyone is too busy. I'd rather make extra money working OT, plus it's more of a bargaining chip for 100% remote when I move if nobody else can do my job.
No time like the present! Since Fridays are my half-days, I'm working 3 OT hours today.
