Prudie Day!

I think I’m closer to making a decision on the job offers. I have until tomorrow but feeling better about one of them!

How’s everyone doing today?

Re: Prudie Day!

  • I'm excited to hear what you decide to do!

It's a rough day here. There's a lot of political drama going on at work and it ends up rolling downhill to me. My coworker just messaged that he's taking a long lunch and going to the dog shelter. I think he's a smart guy.

Nothing much else here. I'm going to go to the park with a friend tonight. I think maybe touching grass will help.
  • @charlotte989875 - Great, hope it is a good fit for you and your family.

It's been a busy week at home and at work so I've been lurking.

At home, I've cleaned out my office/storage room so new desk and arrangement can be done today.  It's amazing how much crap can get dumped in one room.  My brother is coming this afternoon to haul out the old desks and assemble the new.  I should be able to work from there tomorrow.  If not, I'll stay on the folding table in the bedroom.

At work we are revamping our onboarding program and trying to align across all sites.  I work at an institutional level and it's been hard work to get the sites to agree on what should be covered and how.  We are getting close.

DH has had a couple of bad days/nights.  He seems a little better today so that's good.  The cleaning person came yesterday so we're good to go.  Planning to take my mom to the family cemetaries to pick up the plants on Saturday.  Sunday will be settling into the office, laundry and planning for the work week.

Good luck on the job decisions @charlotte98975 and @Casadena

Vibes to all those having a rough moment- I lurked when I could.

Returned home from the New Hampshire house yesterday.  It was a wonderful week and a half. It was nice and cool (highs in the low 70s, in the 50s at night), and we brought the weather home with us, it feels incredible and really has me excited for crisp fall air.

Had oldest’s middle school orientation this morning, I know MS stinks but I do get the vibe that the teachers and staff try to make it enjoy for the kids, so fingers crossed.
ExH came by yesterday afternoon to see the kids and it was shockingly…fine. He just came and took them out, no lingering or trying to push his way in. No hours of texting me harassing or menacing things after the visit. I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop, but maybe it won’t, and that can be a thing? Like just a normal hi/bye with me when he sees the kids.

  • @charlotte989875 good vibes for the decision!

Sorry for the shenanigans at work @MyNameIsNot

I'm glad DH seems better @MNNEBride

Whirlwind of a morning. I ordered labs yesterday and got them done this morning while stressing I would be late to my first patient. But it worked out. My priority for the day (other than work) is scheduling one of my needed doctor's appointments. I was talking to my friend who's an NP too and I mentioned my symptoms and she was like "you should be seen like yesterday," which I knew but was sad face to hear from an outside perspective. Fun fun stuff. I also have a dermatology appointment for a weird nail thing that happened practically overnight after I got COVID-19. I haven't seen any patient's with this issue and I haven't even heard of it happening afterwards, it's so weird. I was talking to my Aunt who also recently had COVID and she has a weird nail thing too! So maybe it's this strain? Who knows. But I'd prefer it not to happen.

    Otherwise SSDD.

  • I hope that’s the new norm for you @i34! It’ll make things so much easier.
Hope your H gets better @MNNEBride

I had a short work week and yet it feels so long.  I went to grab breakfast at our cafeteria and the admin asked if we should order in for it. I’m not big on breakfast and would rather lunch be ordered in… but now that the admin ate breakfast with us, which she normally doesn’t, she’ll probably be too full to order lunch and I missed my opportunity on a free meal lol.
Yesterday I had a good date night with a new man I’ve been seeing. I mean the company was good, but we saw “trap” which was just awful. Don’t waste your money.
I have a fun weekend coming up, so maybe this is why the 2 in office days are dragging?

Hello.  I had to run something to DefConn at school today pretty much as soon as I woke up and it's made my whole day weird.  Also, DH is going to Cincy for the Colts/Bengals game tonight, so he's half-working while he's getting ready to be gone for the evening.

Thankfully, I don't have any meetings.  But, of course, since my morning was off, it means that all sorts of  random and weird issues are on the menu today.  I think it's the full moon.  LOL

Anyway, SSDD otherwise.  Enjoying one last day of cooler weather and having open windows.  It's going to get hot again for a few days.  We're definitely boating this weekend.  The Labor Day weekend forecast is so far looking like almost perfect camping weather.  Fingers crossed that it holds.

    Prudie coming up.

  • @ei34 what I found frustrating for MS has been the concept of 'zero tolerance'.  And ultimately what it means is that if you're found breaking a rule on a computer there's zero tolerance but if you're a bully with a pattern of behavior you need to document it or they won't do anything.    That said I loved a lot of the teachers at the MS and am optimistic for the next four years for Chiquito.
  • Also, i've been listening to Chappell Roan all afternoon and I'm into it. First time I've jumped in but now I'm bummed I didn't go to her Lolla performance.
  • Today has been a day.  IDK why, but my emotions are all over the damn place.  I wanted to put in for PTO tomorrow but I still have half an hour to make up because of my allergy shots and my supervisor is out so it has to be done manually which I don't know how to do and somehow didn't take any notes?  So I just tried to breathe and decided fvck it, I'll work.  Labor weekend is coming up, so I'll just handle it that way.  I probably need to look at how many hours can be carried over and make sure I use them, but I was already overwhelmed and having to deal with this was making it worse.

My morning wasn't great -- K broke my coffee pot lid years ago and I've always just dealt with it.  Except now I think I threw it away somehow because I couldn't find it this morning. So I was like, I'll use my French press.  Except that takes brains to remember the ratio and prep and it was the morning.  I also woke up with a raging headache, probably from dehydration.  Basically everything felt horrible an I was a whiny baby for a bit.

Trying to stay up tonight for the acceptance speech.  I had to take last night off, I couldn't handle anymore of the emotions.  Otherwise, SSDD.
  • I had to get up early this morning to get to a 7:00 doctor's appointment. Just a yearly physical - all is well. However, I am dragging. I did workout afterwards. I also met via Skype with my Italian tutor. I really am not taking lessons anymore because she now has a full time job. She (as do I) does want to keep meeting for conversations every month or so as her schedule allows because we both enjoy it. We've been meeting for almost 12 years! I feel like her 2nd mom - she's my oldest son's age. She was very interested in the election - as are all europeans in general I think. She said they are all hoping Kamala Harris wins.

Tonight H, some friends and I are going to a wine tasting dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant. I'm hungry now so I can't wait! It is featuring wines from outside of Cortona which is where the owner/chef of the restaurant is from.

Not much else going on. We've just been enjoying this gloriously cooler weather - it's going to heat up again this weekend.
  • @levioosa I had to go to Google to make sure I wasn't makings things up, but "covid nails" were a thing when covid first hit us.  I don't remember anything about it or what it was, but there were bunches of articles on Google listed, so you might check them out.
  • Apparently it is a thing.  I hadn't heard of it, but our neighbor kid had "covid toes".

I do remember chilblains and some nail peeling/splitting, but my nails are completely just separating from the nail bed which is something I haven't heard or seen. Doesn't mean it's not a thing, but I've seen a lot of COVID and this particular complication is new to me (blah).

I heard about that with HFM just last weekend.  We were talking to a family member and it went through their house last year and the 17 yo lost his toenails.
  • Congrats! All day sleepy
