Wedding Invitations & Paper

Thank you cards

I got married a month ago and planning to send thank you cards. We had guest who didn't come but still sent a kind gift for our honeymoon fund. How would you go about saying thank you even though they didn't attend ?

Also do you send thank you cards to those who didn't give a gift ? Or do you send to all those who attended the wedding even if they didn't give a gift

Re: Thank you cards

  • You thank people for gifts. It doesn't matter whether they came or not.

You don't need to thank people in writing for coming. Presumably you would have thanked everyone for coming at the event, either in a toast, program or verbally.
  • "Dear Paula, I'm sorry we missed you at our wedding. It was so kind of you to contribute to our honeymoon. Your generous gift allowed us to go waterskiiing/eat at a memorable restaurant/buy a wonderful souvenir, etc. We hope to catch up with you soon."
