Dear Prudence,
I am friends with Ramon, who is known for being very gossipy, though I think he is not. The longest secret he’s kept is for six years, which is a lot for our age. My main friend group keeps telling me not to trust him, though I do. He knows my main secrets and has, to the best of my knowledge, kept them. Now, my most vulnerable secret has recently begun spreading around our school. This secret is that I have a crush on a specific girl. This thankfully doesn’t matter much, since I am asking her out in a few days anyway. But if she says no, it’s just going to spread and spread. I know some of the reasons why this is spreading, and none of it involves Ramon. Or so I thought. My friend group is insistent that Ramon is not trustworthy. What should I do?
