Oof, I'm glad it's the end of this week. I have a quite a bit of work, so the day should go by fast.
Tomorrow is my party and then visiting Mom on Sunday, nothing much else going on. The press reported that the tariffs are going to be pushed through next week, so I went ahead and bought the furniture I wanted for my move.
Lewis Hamilton is on the cover of Time with an interview, so I'll be buying that this weekend. Otherwise, no really big news. I'm sleepy this morning.
How's everyone else's weekend shaping up?

Re: Fri-yay
Happy early birthday @levioosa hope your weekend has moments of relaxation and fun (and that your family doesn't stress you out!)
Have some grading to do today, and I might try to get some cleaning done too. PT early tomorrow and the kids have a swim meet late afternoon. Sunday will be the usual mix of mass, cooking and trying to get some relaxation in.
I am starting to have some weird pain in my abdomen. I thought it was just from coughing so much but this morning getting dressed i tucked in my shirt and almost threw up because there was such a painful spot. Dont' think it's hernia, i can feel anything popping out. But probably need to get that checked out.
Still SO tired, so hoping to fly through things today at the office and go home for a nap before I pick up the kiddos.
Hope you have a nice time at your party @VarunaTT!
The 2nd to last fencing meet is this weekend and Chiquita wants to attend so she needs to be dropped off at 6 AM. I fully intend to come back and crash once she's dropped off!
Otherwise I'm looking forward to a weekend with more down time.
I'm looking forward to the weekend. We're going to Charlotte (4 hr drive) tomorrow for a game and will spend the night. I've never been before, but it seems like an ok city to spend 24 hours in. The we have to get up early Sunday to get home for a planning meeting for the big hike that I'm 0% prepared for.
Hopefully get some sleep in there somewhere, but I doubt it.
Still unemployed, LOL. But I have two interviews next week and another one with a MAJOR company in mid-March (on that one, I've been in direct contact with the hiring manger and have an inside lady who's my eyes, ears, and champion networker). I'm feeling more hopeful that I have all month about finding a job. I feel like if I have a job, then I can feel like I can manage the dumpster fire that is this country and be a better activist/resistor than I currently am at the moment. I was telling my therapist that it's definitely a weird time to have an anxiety disorder, be unemployed, and a woman.
Baby is 7mos old now. He's sitting up and much more vocal. We gave the kids DefConn's old crib and got them a mattress, sheets, protector, etc. because he grew out of his bassinet. We see them 2-3 times a week. I hung out with him Tuesday and yesterday. We watched the Fox Hollow doc on Hulu, because never too early for true crime. Hehe
Seriously, if you haven't seen the doc and like true crime, I recommend watching it. I went to school in the area and used to drive by the house on my way to work in HS.
DH has a work trip next week. It will be weird since I'm not working, but I have the interviews and I'm setting up lunches with friends just to have something to do. I should do some house projects too, ha.
We just did DefConn's HS scheduling. We all had BIG feelings about it, even DefConn, which caught me off-guard since he's been big talk about how he's going to HS and all that. Once it became 'real', he freaked for a second (a totally me reaction).
I need to catch up. I do miss you guys. I've just begun to hate the computer because my job rn is to find a job and it feels like it's all I'm doing besides doomscrolling (a hobby I need to quit badly, LMAO). ((hugs)) everyone.
Sunday we are going to a museum and a concert then a mini pub crawl for drinks and apps in our nearby college town. It might rain but I hope not. The town is so pretty that it's perfect for bumbling around on campus and the neighborhoods as well as the little downtown area and that would be really nice to do. Then it's probably an early-ish night and Monday is recovery before the week.
I came to work and the staff had decorated my office, given me flowers and gifts, and even made me fresh cupcakes/cake. So sweet. It feels nice to be appreciated and celebrated, even though the attention makes me a little uncomfortable. It was really nice and sweet of them.
@VarunaTT have a great time this weekend!
@mrsconn23 hearing that DefConn is entering high school even has me in the feels. Wow time flies!
@mrsconn23 I can only imagine what you’re going through right now. Ugh! Hopefully baby is slightly distracting you from this all.
