Pretty ssdd.  All went well at the dentist for all of us yesterday.  It's cold but very sunny so a win.  A meeting I had on my prep was just canceled so I might dash over to Trader Joe's, I save a lot of money when I go without the kids, lol

  • We finally talked to the neighbor and they apologized and said “they had a family emergency.” I don’t want to be a dick, but that’s an outright lie when the dog has constantly been outside since they moved in. But for the first night in weeks last night the dog was inside all night and we didn’t wake up at all. It was great. I’m just so behind sleep that even that didn’t solve feeling exhausted. But I’m sure it’s helped.

SSDD here. Not even 100 days in and this administration is destroying my mental health and I don’t know what to do about any of it. Ugh.

  • My friend and I made plans tonight, but nothing specific yet.  She's a neighbor, so we often just hang out at her house and drink wine, lol.

But she is always good about knowing what kind of...often unique...events are going around town.  So I decided that I will look that up, for once.

And now I'm going to put off when we are meeting up, lol.  There's a plastic surgeon near my work having an open house tonight with "$25,000 in giveaways"...that I assume are discounts on their services, lol.  Which is fine and perhaps great if I wind up using them.  I'd mainly like to go just to bend a doctor's ear about the overwhelming amount of skin removal surgeries I will need in a field of medicine I don't know anything about.  I have so many questions.  Online research has been information overload and more harmful than helpful for me.  I also want to ask if they remove lipomas and the price range.  I have one on each hip that is scar tissue from all the insulin shots I've taken.

I also found a cool event on Saturday.  It's called Titties and Pitties.  It's a burlesque drag show held at a bar/restaurant that also has a dog park/playground area.  There will also be dogs there to adopt (I must stay strong, lol).  The ticket price is a suggested donation of $15 that goes to the animal shelter.  A great price for what sounds like a fun event and the money goes to one of my favorite causes!  I can't resist.

  • What an amazing event @short+sassy. Love that titties and pitties name. And $25,000 in giveaways would get me going too.  I could use a lift or 2 in the face, arms, thighs… my therapist asked me if I had any more work to be done and I told her, sure. It doesn’t end!
@VarunaTT, that’s a nice jumpsuit. GL and I hope it fits.
@levioosa, what was the family emergency that they couldn’t let the dogs in? My neighbor has 3 yappy ones and they’re not horrible about letting them out early - but I also sleep at all hours of the day.
ISO: a fun hotel with water/theme park in the St Louis or Paducah (or cape Girardeua area). I’m looking for a fun hotel over easter weekend for my nephews and us, but I can’t find anything like Castle Rock resort & water park (Branson) or Great Wolf Lodge. My brother would maybe 2 hours from Southern IL but not 5. Everything is 5+ away.

  • Mostly SSDD.  I need to give a direct report his review and then have an afternoon of crunching through a spreadsheet until I pick up Chiquita at 5:30.

The banquet for her winter sport is tomorrow so I need to make the salad I said I'd bring tonight and dinner.  DH and I have also been talking and I need the kids to figure out what we can do for bedtime.  Lately DH and I are not finally sitting until around 9:45 after the kid are in bed and it's not enough time.  We're up later than we want and his sleep is taking a nose dive.  We have to get to bed earlier so I'm bouncing it to Chiquita because as a HS student, I feel like getting her involved in bedtime routine is now a thing that is nice to have but she's 14 and if she wants to be awake later she doesn't need us to tuck her in.  And we're often waiting for her to finish up so it's a rough routine.

The older I got the more I was off to bed on my own so I think that's the direction we're headed for her.  Now we need to stick to the routine as much as we can.

I know this isn't in the direction you are looking but DD and her family just went to a water park in Sheboygan (sp?) Wisconsin. They had a great time. It is right on Lake Michigan. All the water park stuff is inside. They stayed at the resort because then they had unlimited access to the park. If you stayed at an off property hotel you have limited hours for the park.

This is why i need to win the lottery. Southern IL is seriously lacking on venues like this. I’d retire and put a resort hotel like this because I think there would be many families that would want this weekend getaway. I’m doing it for the kids!

  • @banana468 - My BFF has 4 children.  As they grew, she had an 8:30 PM "rule".  She didn't ask them to go to sleep at that time, but they needed to be in their rooms and not bother her after that time unless it was urgent.  She would then check on them before she went to bed, but it gave her and her husband the downtime they needed.

idk exactly where the are, but there's a smaller water park hotel in https://www.grandbearresort.com/waterpark in North Utica (near Starved Rock).  closer to you for sure, but at least the right direction maybe?

Thanks! I saw that one too! But that’s more near me and not him, 5 hours away still.
Someone recommended that chatGPT can plan vacations, so I downloaded that. But it’s either faulty or super outdated? I ask for hotels with just waterslides in the area and I’m googling all these recs they give me. It’s worse than my own research. It insists that St Louis has a Great Wolf Lodge (it doesn’t) and says all these hotels nearby have waterslides in them (they don’t).
I don’t think AI is going to replace humans any time soon based on this lol.
