Weekend was really nice but super busy, I wasn't home much. &Juliet was a lot of fun, and my aunt really enjoyed her visit/surprise birthday celebration on Sunday.
This week holds a lot of evening events so kind of bracing for all of it.
So glad you liked it! i could not, for the life of me, get up to work out and start the day. I’ve been eating like crap the last 2 weeks so wanted to start Monday off right. I still have time to slip an after work workout in.
I went to vampire circus last year and really enjoyed it, so found out it was coming this year too. It was at Morris performing arts center, so naturally I thought it was Morris IL, a town about 45 minutes from me. The email confirmation said South Bend Indiana. Thankfully it’s on a Sunday, and they’re 1 hr ahead of me, but it’s a 2 hour drive. Still makes for a late Sunday night. Q: has anyone used Gate 1 travel? Or a service like that? I was talking to someone who uses american travel group, which sounds like gate 1. She says she signs up alone, but you’re never alone and part of a tour company and you feel safe and apart of the group. I’m thinking of doing that, if I really feel like I’m always with a group.
I’m also groggy and dragging here. Weekend was good. H came back yesterday and took the kids to the science museum so I could run. I slept poorly. Baby J went to daycare for the first time today so I’m a mess. I miss him!
I’ve never used Gate 1 travel but my best friend uses EF ultimate break and sounds like it’s similar? She books her own stuff (flights, rooms) so she has her own space but she travels with people on the tour. So she has people to meet up with and do excursions if she wants but can also do her own things. She’s done a bunch of trips with them!
I just looked up Gate 1. Sounds great! $2600 13-day trip in Turkey that includes airfare (from NYC), traveling between cities, accommodations, tours at every destination, and some meals. Since my H can't get a passport, I like the idea of traveling in a group instead of solo.
It's been an extreme Murphy's Law day at work, though it started Thurs. One of the big bosses (BB), who I only do work for once in a blue moon, asked me to send him the info needed so I could place a Warehouse Requisition (WR) for him. So I did, but our client has been in the midst of shutting down the old systems for this and moving it over to a new system. As usual, they don't send any info on what people should do or even where this new system is located.
I thought the problem finally got handled, when one of the other big wigs on the client side told him something like, "We need to set up training for New Orleans." But now BB wants me to contact "whoever my former support was". I didn't have one (eyeroll). I've already contacted a few people, but everyone else is in the dark also. Seriously. If the guy he contacted couldn't help me and thinks everyone needs training before using this system, then I don't know why BB thinks I can figure it out.
My aggravation is past its limits now. I have some vital things to do but have wasted my whole day so far "hunting snipe". He also sent me back an incomplete form and I replied back with a bullet point for everything it's missing and info about that category. Even if the old system were working, I couldn't submit his WR until I had all the info anyway.
Tired today. Was supposed to give a career presentation to some high school interns today but their in office day was rescheduled bc of exams and their coordinator forgot to tell HR! So i'm rescheduled for next week. H is having a rough day - stressed about work and feeling really down because he hasn't gotten any traction on the 20ish applications he's put out so far.
I was really draggy yesterday. I made it to church and that was about it! I worked out this morning then planted flowers in pots. We still have the in ground flowers to do but at least it is a start. It is cool and kinda gray here today. By Wednesday it is suppose to be warmer and sunny. I can't wait. I want to open up the screened porch. I may end up going to DD's on Wednesday to baby sit on Thursday. yesterday their nanny returned from a 2+ week vacation to Australia and her mother was hospitalized immediately (the mom was with them on the trip). So if she still needs to be with her mom I will cover for her on Thursday. It will be a short visit by myself (H has appointments) since DS2 is coming home this weekend.

I actually have a G1 trip planned in November! But with a group of us and I don’t know much about it because it’s my first one. I want to try domestic travel alone before I venture out overseas on my own next year. I have a bunch of friends who love to travel but not necessarily the places I want to go (I wanna see ghosts! Lemme see ghosts!)
Save $200 on escorted trips with wkbean200 or $100 on independent trips wkbean100.
I did a whole lot of nothing most of the weekend. I had woken up with a sore throat 3 days in a row. Turns out BFF had as well, so we think we might've picked something up at the book signing, which is not at all surprising. Both of us had sore throats and fatigue that was feeling like body aches too. Whatever it was, resting all weekend seems to have done the trick. I just watched a LOT of documentaries. Which also led to a funny video of me telling my friends that if I am murdered, please remember I am anti-death penalty. However, I fully expected them to avenge me on their own.
Hopefully this week goes smoothly. I don't think I feel overwhelmed yet, but I feel like I'm slowly falling behind at work or just barely keeping up. Trying to get back on track with my food. I feel like now that I have a year of sobriety under my feet, I can start moving to other issues while staying grounded. Sobriety did a number on sugar cravings and giving into them, so that's my next big thing to tackle.
I'm now intrigued by Gate 1 too, thanks @CharmedPam! I hadn't given it thought before but there will come a day that I don't have three freeloading travel buddies, lol Meant to say it last week, but Happy Soberversary @VarunaTT!
