Day 2 of proctoring this untimed state test *yawn*.  Oh well.  I've run out of grading to do and have curriculum plans and Google Classroom assignments up to date for the next five weeks.

Had an eventful morning before work, phew.  DDs spring concert and art show last night were really nice.  This evening one of the kids is being honored at our district Board meeting.  Which means another night with an event that starts at 7pm, but like last night, for a nice reason.

Chiquito is also doing a state test today @ei34!  He asked if I'd get him an exemption because he sees his future as a YouTuber.   You'll be surprised to know that he's taking the test today.

I learned that this time next week it's AP Testing so I need to put THAT on our calendars because there's a class Chiquita will be taking.

DH fixed our washing machine and I went to Chiquito's baseball game.  They did great and won and I'm pretty pleased with the group.   I've got more standard work for today and tomorrow night Chiquito moves up in Scouts which should be pretty exciting.

I'm glad it's Thursday.  This week has been hard at work.  I sent a message to my bosses that I needed them to do X to help me b/c I am looking at falling behind.

A friend and I are going to see Sinners on Saturday.  I'm excited about the movie.  I wish I could watch it in IMAX, but I can't handle the volume levels in the theatre with IMAX.  I always leave with my ears ringing.

Otherwise, SSDD.  There's not a lot going on, just the moving stuff.

LOL at Chiquito. He’s got jokes (watch him make millions as a youtuber - although those days may be gone?)
5.6 is a great a1c @MNNEBride, was it on the high side for you before?
@VarunaTT Sinners was good! I like Imax but I never go because the diva in me hates my local seat set up. They’re all close together and they’re not the reclining seats I’m accustomed to.  I thought a new Annabelle came out today, but I don’t see it as an option on the page.

Our company provides us free lunch. Restaurants with our grubhub corporate account. It’s amazing and I don’t take it for granted.  I have one restaurant I despise. Gia Mia if anyone has it? They cook with heavy oils or butters, and lots of it. The sauces are all heavy (mounjaro restricts such eating), the lettuce in the salad is yucky, and the “pizza’s” are just uncooked flatbreads.
I swear we order 2-3 times a month. And I think they choose it to piss me off. I’m not that picky, and can usually find something somewhere, but this place is just gross to me. It’s a local favorite so I know it’s an unpopular opinion. Anyway, there’s a coworker who has like 10 restaurants she won’t eat at and we never order from them when she’s in. Why me?

Ten years ago, my A1c was 12.4  :o  and I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.  Through meds and life changes, it steadily declined.  Since I went on Trulicity and then switched to Ozempic, it's been down to nearly "normal".  It's been a journey!

Amazing! Congrats. Those meds have helped me tremendously but I can’t get lower than 7.7.  And apparently I still need metformin in conjunction with it, for it to work.
Is it true that once you go lower than a 6, insurance won’t cover you? I know every insurance program is set by the employer but wanted to know if you experienced that? I heard from someone she was diabetic, got it under control but now that it’s under 6, it’s not covered for her.

    Congrats on the A1c!

I don't remember what my A1c was when I was first diagnosed with T1, but my blood glucose was 868.  I looked up what an A1c would be for that and apparently broke the internet, lol.  Google told me 7.7, which is way off.  I found an A1c calculator to get the real number of 31.87.  To be fair, I know my BG wasn't that high for the whole three months prior to my first test.

But I was usually in the low 7s, sometimes higher, for the last 20 years.  Since I started taking a GLP-1 medication about two years ago, I've always been in the 6s.

@CharmedPam, I'd be annoyed by that also!  People who ban 10 restaurants need to be disappointed sometimes.  Especially since you only have one ban and it isn't respected.

My Mounjaro (technically tirzepatide) doesn't complain anymore if I have oily or butter sauces in moderation. But that was one of the few things that made me a little queasy in the first few months.

    Stuck in a box -

@CharmedPam - I have not had the experience of insurance not covering my Ozempic when A1c is under 6.  I'm on metformin and a low dose of insulin every day so I hope they don't deny it.

    @banana468 - the first American-born pope too!

And from Chicago (kinda sorta my city)!
but tbh, I don’t know much about what popes do and who they are and all that. I do know you need the pope’s - or catholic church - approval for an exorcism. Of course I come to the table with that knowledge.

I was probably on ozempic for a year and mounjaro going on 3. I still get an upset stomach if I’m eating rich fatty foods, and especially a cream sauce. But it lasts an hour and sometimes I just do it, knowing what’s coming.

  • Checking in from (fingers crossed) the other side of a Baby J stomach bug. He was sick yesterday and not eating much today but thankfully no more puking!

I started watching etoile and I love it! Other than that work is chaos. M and his friends have been working on songs and art for Mother’s Day eyes tomorrow (wide not I love that his school says to invite any special people in your life for tea. Aunts, sisters, grandmas, friends all welcomed!) I asked M what was happening at the tea and he said “Ms. Laura says the moms are all going to cry happy tears when we sing”. I’ll keep you all posted!
