Weekend was busy but nice- got a lot done around the house that needed to happen, so that felt good.  The kids had fun moments with friends, I escaped the 5K without any injuries or soreness lol, the softball doubleheader was a split but the win was an exciting walk off and the loss was really well-played and not a letdown in any way.

Today is my birthday, so hoping for a smooth day at work.  My mom asked if she and my dad could come over later and make dinner/bring in a cake. I was about to say no but then realized why not, so the kids are excited we'll be celebrating.

    Happy birthday @ei34!!!

Weekend was fair.  As I dropped Chiquito off at the ball park my check engine light started flashing on my dash.  DH drove down and we had a last minute car change, he ran a scan on what the code was and called a local place to have the van looked at.  We brought it in yesterday and had a talk about really looking hard for a new car because stuff like this is annoying but I really don't want to have it happen again especially when I'm trying to go places out of town.  We're lucky to have a 3rd car so he took that today and I'm using his car to do the drop offs needed.   Now we are starting to figure out what's around and given the current market, probably buying new.  I'd prefer gently used but that appears to be what is just not available.

Vent: Toyota Siennas now have a vacuum and fridge in their higher trim cars and if you want the higher trim, you have to get that.  There are other bells and whistles in the higher trim but you can't opt out of that function and that function takes away interior cargo space.  So we're likely going to need to find an after market way to get a heated steering wheel if we go with the car DH found because my cold hands that lose circulation would really appreciate having that.

Saturday night Chiquita and I saw a local production of Annie and I talked to the mom of a classmate of Chiquita's who said her daughter is having a rough go of it and my heart just goes out to people who have struggles with mental health.  Kiddo is taking time off from school to figure things out and I have such sympathy.
  • Happy Birthday @ei34!

Weekend here was good. Friday we went to local Mexican on the later side and figured out that the bar turns into a neighborhood party after 9. Middle aged suburban Friday spots are something. Saturday I went to my niece's very first ballet recital. She's 8, so her group was just cute, but the production was the whole studio that has a ton of older dancers. I was surprised by how good some of it was. Then we stayed home and got take out Saturday night. We're dog sitting, so I'd prefer to stay in as much as possible. Bonus dog is WILD! Sunday was a park run and then we finally had enough sunshine to get all the camp stuff outside and aired out and wiped down.

Somehow in spite of such a low key weekend I'm still tired. I don't know what's going on, but I feel like I could go sleep for about 20 hours right now. I blame bonus dog.

    Happy birthday @ei34

We had a nice weekend. H worked out Saturday morning and the boys and I went garage sale hopping through out neighborhood sale weekend. I gave them each $5 to spend and they got to keep any leftover. G came home with a giant stuffed panda ("For only ONE dollar, mom, can you believe that??!") and Nate came away with a purple hippity hop and a giant pool noodle. They were very excited to have a few extra dollars to put in their piggy banks :)

Nothing for mom and dad but it was fun to look. Also too the opportunity to put a bunch of free stuff on our curb and most of it was taken away. Yay for cleaning out the garage!

Yesterday we went to H's cousins' son's graduation party - i met this kid when he was 4 and he's going to our alma mater....making me feel VEEEERY old. Was nice to see some family though. Walking out the door to go there, N was having a hard time (aka meltdown). He yelled "Mom, that's a stupid dress and I HATE it. PLEASE take it off RIGHT NOW" - then at the party in front of everyone he came up to me, gave me a hug and said "Mom, you look so beautiful today" *eye roll*. 3 year olds are a roller coaster...

G is home sick with a low fever/stuffy/cough today. Hoping he feels better tomorrow, i think a day of snuggles and TV with dad will do the trick. I'll WFH tomorrow with him if needed.
  • Happy birthday @ei34, yes take M&P up on their offer! Especially that cake part.
What annoying feature @banana468. I know I need to buy a cooler and bring it with me when I go to some places, but that’s on MY own terms lol!
@MyNameIsNot, I too caught up on my sleep this weekend. Especially Friday when I did nothing. It was glorious, and you probably need it!
@casadena that’s so funny. I never heard of a dress bothering a kid so much. But then, I guess not bothering them. My niece loves her stuffies still too (10). She’ll always pick a stuffy (is that how it’s spelled singular?) if she gets a choice and her big sister wants clothing, make up, skin care, etc.

My weekend was good. Saturday I went to my friends BBQ and parade. I lathered up my face, neck, shoulders and arms with spf protection but forgot my legs/feet. So I now have a farmers burn and half of it is on the top of my foot.  It hurts! I wore capris so it’s only a small portion of my lower legs. It made for walking around Sunday difficult and hurty and I had to keep them covered and I looooove sandals.
Super chill week coming up. Now that my amc membership went up, I should start utilizing it more.  I think $27 from $24 a month but it went from 3 movies a week to 4.  Who the heck is watching 4 movies a week? I’d rather keep the $24 and 3x a week plan,  i barley even used that.

  • Happy Birthday @ei34 ! Weekend was ok. We returned home from Chicago Saturday after the twins' soccer match. DS2 was here. His date bailed on him due to a family pet death (I hope that is true). He didn't seem too upset about it. He and DH watched the Pacers beat the Knicks. I've never seen either of them so worked up about a ball game. They are HUGE Pacers fans so I was really surprised. Church was yesterday. I finished reading our church book club book - The Other Einstein. It was good but makes you dislike Albert Einstein.

I decided to go to the orthopedic clinic this morning since my back/hip are still bothering me a lot. They took x-rays and scheduled an MRI for this Thursday. The x-rays didn't show any fractures - thank goodness. But I do have a distinct case of scoliosis in addition to my spine curving toward my front.

This next bit is TMI but since the fall, I've felt like I had a tampon in and it was falling out. Today I remembered to check and my uterus (I'm supposing) was coming out of my vagina. So now I have an appointment with my gyn's NP tomorrow. Hopefully something can be done about it quickly. I'm taking it easy (I did push it back up as far as a could). Getting old is not for the weak.

I'm sorry @ILoveBeachMusic the aging process comes with things that sneak up on you.

But as "young" gen x er, thank you for being honest and candid about things that happen in the aging process.   I hope you're able to see your gyno soon and that there is resolution for the prolapse soon!

    Happy birthday!!! @ei34

Im sorry to hear about your health concerns @ilovebeachmusic. There are non surgical options available (pessaries, pelvic floor PT, etc) but i know that’s a scary thing to experience.

I am in emotional overload. Weekend was okay. I’m just sick of being the person that everyone relies on. It is so hard not to be resentful when none of my family had any of this shit in their early adulthood. Must have been really nice to have healthy parents and grandparents, good jobs, family support and of the other shit they seem to have magically forgotten they were privy to.

We had a sad situation this morning. We have feral backyard cats that are sweet and some recently had kittens. Our neighbor’s shitty dogs broke through our fence for the 4th or 5th time and killed one of the kittens. Poor H is so upset. We’ve asked them so many times to control their dogs and fix the fence. And now it’s another probable legal case against our neighbor on top of the other neighbor who has caused $20k of property damage because of unpermitted work. What if SILs dog had been over, or one of the dogs attacked us? I’m just sick of shitty neighbors and people.

@Casadena I hope G is feeling a bit better today
@CharmedPam I'd also keep the 3x/wk movie plan
@levioosa those neighbors are awful and vibes your way - it's really hard being the person an entire family relies on for every last thing
@ILoveBeachMusic that's really unnerving!  One of my aunts (my mom's sister so I got all the tmi details) had a pelvic floor issue last year, she did pelvic floor PT and also had a small procedure, but it was upsetting when it first happened.  I hope that you're able to see a doctor soon, healing vibes your way!
  • Yes please keep up updated @ILoveBeachMusic, I didn’t know that could happen either.
@ei34, amc didn’t give anyone a choice. Everyone went to that plan. I bet they had to do a hike increase regardless, and thought “hey we’ll add another movie a week for them”. I would rather have double pts or something to build up amc dollars since concessions are highway robbery
