We escaped the room last night!! With 14 minutes and 35 seconds to spare. I booked the 2nd hardest escape room without even knowing it. I just liked the theme (murder mansion). We did ask for a lot of clues. I’m trying to convince my 13 and 10 year old niece to do a scooby doo themed one when they come into town but my parents think the 10 year old will be scared. She left a pirate themed one after 5 minutes last time. That girl is scared of her own shadow. Guess she wasn’t raised by me. Lol.

Has anyone fought a chinese based company through paypal?

Situation. I see a cool FB ad for sandals that I loved and bought them. I never had any bad luck with FB ads tbh. Well, I didn’t know they were coming from China. I did get sandals but not the ones I ordered. Now, I didn't pay Louis Vuitton prices for them, but they weren’t cheap. So I emailed customer service the pictures of the pair I got. It must have been someone elses’ order? Or they don’t even have those styles to begin with. They offered me $15 back and 40% off my next (wrong) purchase. No. Wasn’t happy with that. Next offer: 25% back. Nope. I wanted them to fix it. Send me what I ordered or eat the cost yourself and refund me 100%. Final rebuttle from them was 30% back. These sandals are not my style, and I won’t wear them. So I put a claim through paypal. Then I got a response from customer service after they saw the claim. “the best we can do is 60% back. If you go through the bank, they’ll ask you to send the items back which is $50 shipping and it can take 1-3 months to process. Pull the claim as soon as you can and take the 60%. This is the last time I’m contacting you about this”.

Woah. YOU did wrong and are going to treat me like this? I have a feeling I’ll win through paypal and they’ll give me a 100% back, with no need to return. They have that purchase protection. I told paypal I would return them if I got a prepaid label. That’s fair I think. I think I’m going to wait for paypal’s verdict. I think the shoe company is trying to scare me to pull the paypal claim.

@charmedpam that happened to my H once with some golf gadget. He got something totally wrong and he didn't get anywhere. Hopefully you get it resolved in your favor!

G has been napping at school this week and it's been taking him forever to fall asleep at night! Both boys slept til almost 7 today so fingers crossed they wont' be tired enough to nap. Thankfully he was back to being excited about school today and dropoff was smooth.

Work is fine. I keep having this feeling that I'm forgetting something major but have looked through everything and don't think i am. Maybe i'm just not used to being caught up?

H is joining me next week on a quick business trip to the Niagara area. We've never been away from the boys together overnight so I'm definitely looking forward to that!! Planning to see the falls, play golf, and sit at a winery. Maybe lunch in Toronto before we fly back. Nothing major, mostly just spending a couple days together sans kids.

I actually understand G’s struggles. Sometimes I come home soooooo tired and I nap. So come bedtime, I can’t fall asleep either. But I’m glad he’s liking school better!

Toronto sounds good. I hear the Canadian side is the better side of the falls too.

in a GOOD customer service report, I noticed a perfume I ordered online has been stuck in Columbus since 5/18. My friend told me the same thing happened to her so she made a call and then suddenly her parcel got “unstuck”. So all I did was email them telling them that, and who do I contact to push it through? And I got a response in like 5 minutes saying this was lost, but they sent another one out with a new tracking number. This company was from Romania. Talk about night and day for customer service!

@charmedpam I think you’ll win on PP if you have purchase protection. I’ve seen this happen with eBay sellers (not to me but a friend) and eBay refunded the entire amount. I think these companies largely use 3rd party shippers so they lose money on returns which is why they try and force you to take a less desirable deal.

Things are good here. A team I work with (same division another group) is trying to push work off on my teams and I’m not having it. They did it at the end of the year last year and I didn’t have any recourse but now I have a lot more ability to push back. My manager is livid- she’s at a conference but already sending emails to her boss (our Chief Compkabce Officer) about it.

Niagara-on-the-lake, CA side! We're just flying through Toronto bc I didn't want to deal with driving across the border!

Crazy day at work but looking forward to an uneventful evening. I definitely have to run our application over to the town pool, it opens on Saturday (woohoo) and that's the day that the early bird discount goes away.

Chiquita is feeling better - still sounds like Ferris Bueller's keyboard but the fever is gone and she ACED the final she had today.

I did NOT ace parenting and had to go back to the pediatrician because i need forms filled out for her to be able to take her daily medication at camp.

I'm in line for my Mother of the Year Award. In front so get behind me the rest of you!!

I only did an escape room once and we were on the very last step and failed. The lady giving clues apologized, she said she thought we had it and was looking at another room and we ran out of time. Probably with about another 10 minutes, we would've had it. It was fun though.

I've bought another Alice in Wonderland booknook. Excited to work on this one too, it's the scene of her falling down the tree to Wonderland. I'm working on another build of the Lego Plum Tree. I discovered the Lego Builder app. It's SO useful. They have 3D instructions, which you can ZOOM in to see all the dang parts AND it's more color accurate. I could hear the angels singing. There's also a Lego Sherlock Holmes booknook I want, but I'm going to call the local Lego store and see if I can order through them to give some business their way.

Mom seems to be settling down. I even caught her playing with Harley. Work is slowly coming back round, this new program apparently has caused some real messes and they've moved staff to try and work on cleaning it up. I'm catching up alright finally and feel like I can maybe take some very small quiet and unobtrusive breaths...I just don't want anyone to notice and put something on my plate to help.
