Wishing everyone luck on annoying-Tuesday (is it still the majority’s annoying day?)

Have an early student/parent meeting so already at work. Shoutout to the various mom friends who each took one of my kids earlier for camp drop off.

ExH is off on Tuesdays and stated he will see the kids each Tues of summer. He did take them briefly to DD last week and I’m hoping he’s around today as well. I texted yesterday morning asking for a time frame and haven’t heard back but we’ll see.

FX @ei34, for both you and the kids
Tuesday is a wfh day and discount movie Tuesday (not for me, but usually I get my friend who needs the discount to go) so I’m always ok with Tuesday lol

I came home on Sunday and my stupid garage door was up. I was gone 3 days, and have no idea for how long. Nothing was taken, that I see.  Apparently it’s wiring because the last guy cleared the codes. I have someone coming out today to add a lock to the door and I’m just going to make it a manual open. I have to walk up to the actual door to get into it anyway. There’s no inside door into my house from it, it’s just convenient to have it motorized.

Anyone disappointed in prime days? I had a ton of stuff saved that I thought were prime worthy, but nada.

  • Tuesday is annoying day for me. It starts with 8 am meetings and is usually back to back until 4. For some reason my company culture has this unwritten rule where we avoid non-urgent meetings on Mondays, so everyone schedules everything for Tuesdays. It's weird.

Nothing much else going on here. It's hot AF and I'm just over it already. I think if my H were on board we'd move to a cooler climate, but I doubt either of us could really take the winters. I need to figure out how to retire as a snow bird.
  • I am in Chicago for the week. SIL is on a business trip so I'm helping DD - especially on the days she works. SIL usually hangs around until the nanny comes because DD has to be at the hospital by 7:00 and the nanny arrives a little after 7:00. She has the kids today at the nanny share family's house so I'm on my own. I'm meeting a realtor at noon. H and I are exploring options for moving both here and in Indy. Our yard is a lot of maintenance. I found a couple of options in Indy that we will investigate further. This wouldn't happen for a couple of years but we need to get the house ready if we are going to sell. Not selling is also an option if we change landscaping so we don't have so much out door work. I head home on Friday then H and I are going to Pennsylvania for his trustees meeting.

We have the same thing with Monday/Tuesday and it’s bizarre. We’re making Tuesday worse because we won’t meet Monday.

Things are… fine. We’re budget crunching at work and it sucks. I’m over it and tired.

Before my H and I decided we're moving out of Louisiana, we used to joke that we'd be "summer birds" after we retired.

Live in our main house in NOLA during most of the year, but then fly away to cooler places in the summer.

@CharmedPam, I'm actually loving Prime Day this year!  I sent back four Amazon Essentials long-sleeved tee-shirts a few weeks ago because they were too tight in my upper arms.  Now they're on sale for $8.90 but, when you buy 4, you get 10% off.  So I got them for $8/each.  There was another ribbed shirt I got a few weeks ago and absolutely love.  They're on sale for $10.  I bought at least 5 in different colors.  I also got a few different energy drinks I like and have my eye on some Premier Proteins.

I've lurked a bit here and there, but finally have some time to catch you all up with my goings on.

I had a great trip to Catalina/So CA!  I'm glad I made the extra time to visit my family.  It went better than I thought.  It was a neat experience to sail in my friend's boat to the island.  I'm not usually susceptible to sea sickness but had also never been on a smaller, personal boat on the ocean like that either.  I went loaded for bear with my patches.  It was not enough, lol.  But I still enjoyed most of the boat trip there and back.  Lying in the sun, listening to tunes.  We were there for a few days and it was more relaxing in the sun, though I forgot how chilly it gets when the sun isn't beaming down on you.  We hung out and danced like we were still in our 20s.  At the ONE bar on that side of the island, lol.

On the way back, a pod of dolphins was swimming alongside the boat.  I've had that happen many times before when I was on larger vessels, but it was such a delightful surprise how CLOSE they are in a smaller boat.  The side I was sitting on was slanted towards the water and the closest dolphin was less than 2' away from me.

Before and after the trip, we had time to toodle around L.A. some.  We were primarily hanging out in various parts of Venice.  But went to Chinatown on our last day because our flight didn't leave until the evening.  So sad I didn't have time to eat my DELICIOUS leftovers from there!

Summer impetigo is visiting right now.    Little guy started to show up with sores on his feet and face and 2 on his hip and I worried that it was HFM but he's acting FINE.  When a rash appeared we called the pedi and now two prescriptions called in so I can still get him to baseball later hoping that the rain passes us.

Chiquita is at sleep away camp hopefully enjoying her best and lice-free life.
