Wowza, that was FAST, @Casadena, thank you!  Also, working from bed sounds amazing.

My hair appointment is tomorrow.  I want to keep the purple for now, so I'm going to do it.  But the dye and hair cut slot is SIX HOURS LONG.  I'm taking headphones and a book, and my hairdresser is a wonderful friend, but still, yuck.  I might not be able to keep this up, I'd rather spend 6 hours doing something else on the weekend.  My aunt is coming to visit from Sunday to Wednesday.  Mom keeps asking what we're doing and I'm like, I'm working, IDK what you guys are doing.

Otherwise, just a bit more stuff to get into the attic and to take to donation.  Then I think I can work to arrange the garage to actually get Sassy (my car) inside.  Which will make me very happy.  No F1 this weekend, which kinda sucks.  It's been my escapism this year.  The depression is definitely here, I'm working through it, using tools, etc., but that doesn't mean it goes away, it's just managed.  I think that's the best I can hope for at this point.

I'm really tired of dealing with computers + mom right now.  IDK what she does, but it seems like every other day there's a new thing to fix.  Last night while changing another password, I was muttering how she was as bad as dad used to be, realized what I was saying and just STFU.  That's a hard pill to swallow, to see her doing some of the same aging things dad did and she fussed over too.
  • There is a lot of stress and uncertainty here. Budget cuts and reorganization are going on at work. We've been told there are no talks of cutting folks in our area, but it's all around us. In lean financial times, it seems training and education are some of the first areas cut.

We need a new car. Ours has been awesome and super reliable for 10 years. But an issue was discovered at our last oil change, and it's time to get something else. We're looking at new or nearly new.

DH had been difficult for several days.  Today is better and I'm thankful for that.

And, of course, just the nation and the world.

Hoping for some downtime this weekend.

Hugs @VarunaTT - keep using your tools and taking care of yourself.
Welcome home @Casadena - working from bed sounds awesome!

  • 6 hours in a salon chair IS a long time @VarunaTT! I used to go to the hair schools to get cut/colors done cheaper, and I remember the time being longer than usual but that was “student” time. Lol
@Casadena, welcome back. Sounds like a well deserved work from bed day.

I had a long work week too. Sales meetings and dinner out on Wednesday. It was a great night with coworkers and I’ll seriously be SO sad to leave this company if they decide to move us.
Also, why did I say yes to a bachelorette party tonight? I say yes at the time thinking it will be fun, but then the time comes and the thought of staying home diamond painting and listening to my podcasts sounds more appealing. The dinner should be ok - but after they’re going to a bar to listen to a band and live music is just not my thing. I think I’ll go for a bit because they did a head count for a table, but will duck early. I only know the bride and her friend.
I don’t bring anything for a bachelorette party, right? Just some extra cash to chip in for the bride’s portion?

Hope you can catch up on rest soon @casadena
Good luck at the Bach party @CharmedPam
Six hours, ouch!! @VarunaTT although that hair selfie you posted recently was awesome
Sorry for the work stress @MNNEBride!

Edited bc it posted after I wrote “hope you can” lol

Making some meals for my very pregnant sister. She’s not due until mid-August but she’s done.  Her kids are super sweet but at tricky ages and she’s just really tired. They love their big cousins so I’ve been taking them here and there, and my kids help watch them, but besides that and the meals, I’m drawing a blank on what else I can do.

One of the DDs has alopecia (I had it, my mom had it) and we saw the ped on Wednesday bc she wanted to take bloodwork to rule out any thyroid, iron or autoimmune issues.  But we are seeing the dermatologist that she recommend a bit later (well, the office’s PA, the dermatologist wasn’t available until September, and I honestly appreciate how thorough PAs and NPs are anyway). I’m glad she’s being seen but anxious for the call about blood work results.
