Weekend here was lowkey which was great. Just a big mix of cooking, cleaning, and swimming.

Starting to pack for our Jersey Shore beach trip later this week.  Due to a summer camp conflict we’re not there now (the rest of my family arrived Saturday) but a few days will feel like enough.

Boys did great and seemed to enjoy the Cubs game yesterday! Saturday was a nice chill day hanging out at home.

At some point yesterday my jaw locked up and is in so much pain on the left side. I can't really chew anything or open my mouth to yawn. I feel like I need to see someone to get some relief but not sure i need to see my dentist or go to my PCP. I have book club tonight with the school mom group that i love but always feel kind of left out of. I'm waffling on whether to go since I can't really eat/chew anyway. Maybe this will at least jump start some much needed weight loss? Trying to look on the bright side, lol.

Both boy asked to cut mohawks over the weekend so those are hilarious and adorable. And cut just in time to grow out a bit and get good haircuts before school pictures :)

Pretty low key.  Took more stuff to donate and got more stuff into the attic.  Waiting on new shelves now, and will get the rest of my stuff in the garage up off the floor.  Then I think I can get my workout equipment figured out and my car inside the garage.  Whoot!  I think my decor plan is starting to come together.  I may wait until next Spring/Summer to start painting, just to give me more time to live in and figure out what I want to do in these rooms.  I'm in no hurry.

Friend and I watched Ballerina this weekend.  Honestly, it's probably my favorite addition to the John Wick universe, better than the sequels and the series.  I laughed my butt off too.  There's a line in the movie that she (main character) is a woman, can't fight like a man, and needs to learn to fight like a woman.  And holy moly, did they put it into the practice for the movie.  The fight choreography is still the same style, but she uses ice skates, grenades, pipes...whatever object is at hand to just absolutely beat the hell out of everyone.  It was fun, stylish, the cinematography/lighting is pure magic, and just overall a good movie.  I hope it gets more fleshed out.  Also, it's the movie Black Widow should've been and I'm going to die mad about that.

I'm working hard at having patience with Mom and just letting things that don't actually have to have an effect on me, slide on by.  It's so tiring sometimes though.  This weekend she managed to find passive aggressive ways to complain about the new internet.  I realized she always does this when it's a change she doesn't have control over.  I'm pretty good at not getting defensive now, but I remember the fights when I was a teenager/young adult over this b/c I would feel the need to defend my decision and boom! there's the fight.  She also 100% forgot something we'd already done less than 24 hours ago and asked to do it again.  So I just did it again, it wasn't inconvenient, and she didn't have to get upset about forgetting the first time.

Overall it was a good, relaxing weekend.
  • The weekend was good here. I went to my class reunion get-togethers on Friday and Saturday night. I talked to a bunch of folks, laughed, caught up, etc. I wasn't out past 11 p.m. and had one drink each night, but man, am I tired, lol.  One of the big topics of the weekend was the realization that an infamous convicted murderer was in our class.  All the publicity was in her married name, so many of us didn't realize the connection.  Her slain husband was in the class below us.   :open_mouth:
