My husband passed away three months ago.  He had not been on speaking terms with his mother for the last 10 years, and his wishes were that she not be made aware of his death.  Should I honor his request?

    LW, do not make the mistake of thinking "this is how things should be" and working from that lens.  B/c it's not how things are.  Honor his wishes.  Not only that, but if he cut his mother from his life, there are reasons.  Do you want her landing in your lap?  I would guess not.  Leave this alone.

    Honor his wishes. Assuming they didn’t change before he died, he had reasons for this request. Honor those.
