QR code app for photos

Hello,
Getting married in June. We want guests to be able to take photos and have them upload to a group folder. We have decided against any product that requires someone to download the app; don't think people will be keen on that. Has anyone used products such as POV that only require a QR code for guests to take pics?

I would caution against a QR code because they can be finicky and less pleasant for some who are less tech savvy.

What about something as simple as creating a gmail account specifically for your wedding and make an album public that your guests can upload to?
  • I would honestly avoid anything that asks you or your guests to download an app. It needs to be as easy as scan and upload. There are some websites out there that do this without app download.

We used Eventoly for our wedding last year. I got 850 photos and videos, so it was worth it.
  • At my sister's wedding they made little cards with QR and an NFC sticker for those who don't know how to use QR, so by just bringing their cell phone close, the guests could join a shared album without downloading the app. She used the Dots Memories app to set it up, and of the ones I've seen, I think it's the cutest. I hope my answer helps you! Any questions please ask me :)
  • Hi! My friend got married last year and she gave wedding favors that had a QR code. When scanned, it led us to a shared album where we could upload photos and videos! There was no need to download the app so it was pretty convenient. It was so cool honestly she got more than a thousand photos / videos from her guests. Personally, I loved the app as well. I started using it after the wedding for my birthday. I believe the app was called Dots Memories. I suggest you try it
  • my sister used wedport.com and she said it worked great.  I plan to do the same.
  • We really liked pixdrop.io for our occasion. Besides just upload you can create a full page with details and info along with a rsvp form if you want. The best part is we were able to create the full page and play with it before even having to commit any money.
  • We used Guestlense for our wedding. Guests didn't have to download any apps and the platform was extremely customizable. We designed our QR templates right on the website and they were delivered to us 2 days later. Highly recommend!

We also used Guestlense! Very easy to use. We got 200+ photos back the same night.
  • we got married a few weeks ago and were looking for an easy way for guests to share photos without making them download anything. A friend recommended dots memories and we ended up using it instead of pov — honestly super happy we did.

you just make the album in the app, it gives you a QR code, and guests scan it to upload photos and videos (pov doesn’t let you upload videos)without having to download the app....even my grandma figured it out and added pics during the reception 😂

The other thing I liked about it was that it sends little reminder notifications so people don’t forget to upload later in the night or the next day... highly recommend if you just want something simple that works!! 10/10

  • Hi! Looking to do the same thing for my wedding in October! I saw this app mentioned multiple times. Is it a free process? A lot of other sites I am finding are free for a limited amount of time or photos and paid versions for more. Wondering if this one is the same.
  • I went to a wedding where they used Camdeed. Not sure how much it cost, but what really stood out was that all the guests had to do these fun photo challenges the bride and groom had set up for us

  • Has anyone ever used GuestPix? I'm highly considering it for my wedding this December.
  • I found this really cool web app called guesticon for our wedding. We used their free rsvp feature (they even had intro videos on the RSVP page that we could record, which was super cool) and the seating chart tool, which we exported as images and printed out so guests could see their tables. It was really easy to use.

They also have a free qr code album, but it’s limited to 50 photos per album 😅. They were running a sale on the premium qr code packages, which was the only thing you had to pay for, and we ended up getting 3 albums out of it.
