Dear Prudence,

My wife wants a pair of jeans by Dolce & Gabbana. When I found out they cost around $1,200 each, I told her if I was going to pay that kind of money for a pair of jeans, I expected a hot chick to be in them. Now she’s furious with me. I was just making a joke! Is buying the jeans my only way back into her good graces?

In one of the first Family Guy episodes, Peter talks to Brian (the dog) about the error in his unemployment check. He's receiving 1.5M/week instead of $1500. Brian advises him he needs to confess to Lois.

But Peter chickens out after telling Lois he has something to discuss with her. He blurts out something like, "You're getting fat."

When Brian asks him later about how things went, Peter says, "I told her she was fat." Brian picks up a newspaper and swats him on the nose a few times while saying, "No, Peter, no!"
