My husband has a disturbing (at least for me) way of getting rid of telemarketers. We get frequent calls, and once he learns it’s someone selling something, he goes into phone sex mode. He will launch into explicit details about what sex acts he wants to perform on them and what he wants them to do to him. I will admit we generally don’t get repeat calls from the people who receive this treatment, but it feels incredibly wrong to me. He says I shouldn’t complain since it works. Is he right, or is what he is doing inappropriate, even if it does have the desired effect?

This is super weird and way inappropriate. He’s sexually harassing people at their job. You may not like what these people do, but they don’t deserve to be treated like that because of what they do to pay their bills.

I worked at a few phone centers in my early years. Mostly were incoming customer service things, but I once worked on an appliance recall where we had to make outgoing calls to everyone who had registered their recalled dishwasher and try to set up service. The amount of disgusting shit that people would say was unreal. My 16 year old ears were scarred.

ANYONE who intrudes on my time without invitation, will be treated however I see fit. ESPECIALLY telemarketers who are illegally calling me, since I'm on the "Do Not Call" list. Some of them are downright blatant scams anyway. I realize the true scum of the earth are the companies they work for, but the employees are also knowingly taking jobs that require them to be shitty human beings.

With that said, it is gross what her H is doing and that's a bridge too far at least for me. Plus, he's just wasting more of his time actually having a conversation.

Though every once in a great while, I'll fuck with someone for my own amusement who is clearly running a scam.

Unfortunately, I don't always have the luxury of ignoring unknown callers because I get a good bit of legitimate ones and they are sometimes important. It also doesn't always matter if you block a number. Because these POS can call you from an unlimited amount of numbers.
