Hump Day

How’s everyone today?

Re: Hump Day

  • SSDD here. I did get my CV submitted in my supervisor's preferred format - whew!

There is still a lot of news about restructuring all around my team at work. We are not yet impacted, but things feel unstable. It's hard to just keep your head down and carry on, but it's what's needed right now.

You know it's an exciting day when you order a new litter box lol.

  • Morning! Still in a major funk and it's hard to focus. Just struggling with life in general i guess and stressing about how parents get anything done and also spend time with kids/sleep/work out/generally take care of themselves. We still don't have before/after care for G when he starts school and need to flex our work hours and figure out a schedule.

I slept super well last night though which was nice, nobody woke me up in the night (pretty rare).

Hope everyone has a nice week!

We don’t. Not all on the same day. At least not anyone I know.

    Things are meh here too.

J had a doctor visit yesterday and it wasn’t great. I mean he’s fine and I was thinking he was good but they want to do more tests. He’s a noisy sleeper (not snoring just loud breathing) and lately he’s been waking up screaming then going right back to sleep and he moves around a ton. Hes still a 1000% better sleeper than M was so we don’t think anything of it. He also isn’t talking much (just mama, dada, Gaga, baba, roaring like a dinosaur).

Except our pulmonologist thinks it’s not normal and we need to test his oxygen over night and do a sleep study. So yesterday was a lot.

    M turns 5 on Friday!

    That’s a lot to take in @charlotte989875
    Good luck @MNNEBride
Vibes your way @Casadena, figuring out the before/after care is really hard

Started the thread and then jumped into seeing students, plus two parent meetings. All done now though. ExH didn’t end up seeing the kids bc he had to run errands. Irony being that he texted me that while the kids and I were leaving Lowe’s and heading to Barnes & Noble. Like…the kids can go on errands with you? Unless maybe he meant hitting up his drug dealer. That was annoying although at least the kids didn’t mind, they’d been complaining a bit about having to see him.

Just peeked at temps while we’re in NH, and it’s looking warmer than usual. July is usually their hot month, by mid-Aug it’s rarely over 72, with lows into the 40s/low 50s. I’m a bit bummed out but maybe it’ll change. Shout out climate change.
  • Hugs @charlotte989875 - medical stuff with kiddos is so emotional.

I think Chicago is getting a warm up with humidity, and I always felt that way too. That’s fine, then September and October are nice fall months, and shouldn't be as cold.
Drug dealer? 😳 was that sarcastic?
    @charlotte989875, hope it’s nothing major!

Speaking of nice fall weather, I’m looking for some halloween fun. I’m making the 24-26th weekend my fun halloweeny stuff weekend since I set the real day aside for trick or treating. A Halloween cruise on lake michigan looked amazing, and last year a local radio station did theirs on the Friday before it, so I was hoping for the same but this year it’s ON halloween (falls on a Friday) and wouldn’t you know it? All cruise halloween parties are on the actual night, and to get there and board the ship. It starts well before trick or treating is over. What if you’re a parent and want to spend it with your kids? We all know I’m not, but I’m the cool aunt that does!
Edit; saw the naked gun last night. Funny! Some good one-liners and I felt it remained true to the original series in jokes and just how it was filmed.

  • I skipped my movie last night. IDK why I thought I could do an 8pm showing, but I can't.  I do have a movie tonight...it's at 6:20, much better.  I also think my system is starting to think, WTF at all this protein!! and um...I didn't feel like chilling in the movie theatre bathroom.  @CharmedPam I really want to see the new Naked Gun. Buddy and I are re-watching the old films to remember before we go in.

Otherwise, SSDD.  No big plans, no big movements, just vibing.  I did skip yoga this morning, but I'll get back to it tomorrow.
