Dear Prudence,
My wife and her sister have never really gotten along, but at a recent family function, they both showed up wearing the same dress. They got into a shouting match, which soon turned physical, and both dresses ended up sustaining damage rendering them no longer wearable. These were expensive dresses (north of $500), and my SIL is demanding we pay for her dress, while my wife is demanding her sister reimburse her for her dress. I say they should take this as a lesson against acting like petulant children, but my wife is expecting me to take her side. Is there any way I can stay out of this shit show?
