Weekend here was lowkey which was nice. Bracing myself for a long week, but yesterday I got as much prep so to speak (a few dinners, clothes for the week) done as I could.

We decorated the front yard for Halloween but held off on indoors til next weekend.  The autumn decor went up a couple weeks ago and I just think it’s so much prettier than all the Halloween stuff.
  • Busy weekend!

Saturday I volunteered with Chiquita for a local breast cancer walk.  It's a big event for the area with varying lengths for those who wish to participate and was pretty amazing.   We kind of crashed by late afternoon and watched a predictable but sad Yankees loss and the kids were pooped so they went to bed and we had maybe 45 minutes before crashing ourselves.

Sunday we had church, Chiquita had Girl Scouts and later that evening she had a bonfire for youth group.

We had a letter from the insurance company denying Chiquita's upcoming infusions needed September through December which is just how I wanted to start the week so I scanned everything and sent it as a message to her GI doctor.

I hate how the system works and how long it's going to take their screw up to get corrected.
  • I'm so sorry about the insurance fight @banana468

Weekend was good. I'm just super tired. I usually take a day off in between a trip and work, but because we really didn't travel far I decided to skip that and I went straight into a work week with overtime without a rest day in between and it was rough. I worked Saturday too. After I got home H and I did a walk and had a little date night after finding some old gift cards at home. Yesterday I was so drained I almost felt flu like. I did get my nails done and ran some errands and that was the straw that broke the camels back. When we got back from that I basically spudded on the couch until 6 when we did a walk in the hopes that it would make us feel better. It helped a little but I was still dead. I am WFH today. The area I'm working in from home is spicyyyyy. I'm basically just cleaning up other people's messes (and it didn't have to be like this, which is annoying, and also at times amusing given the responses). Like, you guys do know your responses are part of a legal medical record?

I am being transferred to another department this week. They told me it might happen, but nothing is ever planned in a cohesive or logical way where I work. I asked them, please, block my schedule if you think you're moving me in X time. Did they? Of course not. Do they now want me to see my super complex patients AND take on seeing walkins (could be ten patients a day, could be 40+), of course they do. (I told them absolutely fucking not). Do we now have to reschedule a ton of people because they didn't block off the schedule for a pre-determined move? Yup. And of course no time was blocked off for me to move my office (for the 7th time in 3 years). And once again patients are super upset because they were getting comfortable with me, they liked the continuity, and once again, that's being wrecked. It just...doesn't have to be this way.

On a positive note, the weather here has been so nice. Yay for fall weather and slightly cooler temps in the 70s and 80s.

  • Work is slow today thankfully. Actually using my WFH Monday so have been able to get some laundry and vacuuming done in between meetings. Weekend was fun, lots of play and hang out time.

Looking forward to cooler temps later this week. Getting pretty sick of 85 and humid in October...
  • Weekend was good. We were at DS2's house to help him get some yard stuff done - cutting down branches, trimming bushes, mulching where it hadn't been mulched in quite a while and digging out some dead stuff. We had a fun dinner at a taco place Saturday night. Friday night we met up for dinner with a college classmate of H's who lives within walking distance of DS2! We came home early yesterday because H went to the Colt's game with a friend. I attended a lecture on masks in theater in Ancient Rome and Comedia d'arte. Then I had an Italian conversation class. I was whipped by the time I got home.

Today we had the flooring in our primary closet replaced. It still had the original carpet from when we built the house over 26 years ago. We replaced it with hardwood that matches the bedroom. I'm so glad we did it! It looks 100% better.
