Easy day at work today bc we have the PSAT/SAT going on for 10th-12th graders, with an abbreviated school day 11:30-2:56 (20min periods) to follow.

Trunk or treat at the high school this evening that the kids are looking forward to. It's local and easy so it should be nice.  Tomorrow I have brunch plans with friends (it's fairly early- 9am- so I guess it's technically a breakfast), and then the kids have the dentist, and I have to have them help me declutter their bedroom as well.  Planning on Sat evening mass too.
Sunday looks sunny so we're attempting pumpkin picking early, and I'm planning on making a big pot of meatballs and sausage afterwards (I adore low and slow weather).  Schools are closed for students on Monday in observance of Diwali, teachers aren't off per se, we just have PD/training, but it's remote, which is basically a day off.  So nothing fun planned but it'll be a good day to play catch up on the laundry, make kid lunches, etc.

I'm hoping for a little of both!  Though don't have anything social planned.

October is one of the best times of the year in my neck of the woods.  Most days are sunny and warm, but not hot.  I almost can't help but be in a good mood!  I'm making more of an effort to be outside because it perks my spirits.

Edited to add:  I hope I'm not jinxing myself, but it should be a cake day at work and Fridays are my half day.  That is perking my spirits also, lol.

  • @ei34, have fun doing all the fall stuff with your kids. We have a neighbor who celebrates Diwali, and they have festive lights up on their home.

Tonight should be low-key. I need to run a couple of errands and then pick up take-out. Tomorrow, we are taking my Mom to a fundraiser dinner and hope to see some fall color on the way down there. I'm praying that goes well because DH is going, and he's been a pill quite often lately. Sunday, it's supposed to be cool but dry. I need to get some bulbs planted before it's too late.

  • My only plans are watching F1, playing video games, and getting my eyebrows threaded.  Oh and finally taking setting up my personal computer/work computer switch.  I've been avoiding it, but it simply need to be finished.  I have a run on Sunday, but it's just a walk today and rest day tomorrow and I'm glad.  My body is tired.  I slept for almost 12 hours last night.

Otherwise, SSDD.  I don't really have too much going on and I'm kind of enjoying it.  It's been a rough few months and I needed some down time.
  • H and I went out last night- dinner and Mumford & Sons! Had a great time but I’m exhausted. Baby J and M both woke up early (M for potty baby J with his sleep shrieking). WFH and hoping for a short nap. I saved all my required training for today so fingers crossed it’s an easier day.
  • Fun fall outtings! Enjoy!

so my friend and I were supposed to fly into Jacksonville and head over to St. Augustine for our gate1 trip… but her scheduled uber canceled on her and she arrived to the airport late, missing her flight. I’m almost at St. Augustine now, and looking up things to do that wont be so awkward alone. Half the stuff I want to do we’ll be doing as a group tomorrow for gate1 and the other half are night tours (ghosty town!).  Also all the reviews said to get a car service from Jacksonville to St. Augustine but that probably depends on the time of day. It was $87 for an uber and $125 for a car, but I had already booked the car so couldn’t cancel it. I was just testing the app to see how accurate those reviews were.

  • Oh boy it's a busy time.

Thanks perimenopause I've been up a few nights this week but last night I slept much better (we're at the phase of leaving a fan on but the heat on at night.  It helps!).

I'm finally working to get cello lessons for Chiquito and he's such a busy kid.   I never wanted to have such an overscheduled child but here we are.
  • Work today. Yesterday was...interesting. They didn't communicate properly so I was alone. Luckily as far as UC days can be it wasn't bad at all. It does make me worry that today might be a disaster, but I should at least have someone here with me.

Tomorrow I picked up a shift (with regrets now, but I do need the money). Sunday I don't have any plans, and then it's back to work on Monday again.

  • @CharmedPam, hit the beach or the pool in St. Augustine!  Lounging around in the sun with a cocktail sounds heavenly right now.

  • Enjoy all the weekend plans!

We're planning on a pumpkin patch tomorrow morning and then H is taking the dudes to a bday party Sunday so I can get some stuff done around the house.

HAd some wine last night at book club and definitely feeling it more than usual today. Also had my annual physical and bloodwork this morning. Saw a new provider and loved her. She can do my physicals/appts but apparently cannot be my designated PCP because she's a nurse practicioner - seems silly to me, but whatever. She's great though. Had to go to another location for bloodwork as they recently closed the lab at the provider location - so that took a quick 30 minutes appointment into a 2 hour runaround. Killed most of the morning though.

Work is slow thankfully and hoping to take a short lunchtime nap :)
