Would this be considered rude and impolite..

Recently got married and was wondering if anyone else thought this was rude. Our wedding was in large indoor event center at a lake. Me and my husband finished the ceremony and and walked out the doors after finishing. We go outside to take pictures and to meet friends and family. When we come back inside people began getting their food already before our officiant had us announced as husband and wife and before we were able to get our food. Everybody was already eating so we did not get announced coming back in. By the time we were able to get to the food most of it was gone. After that, the majority of the guests left before we were able to cut our cake. The whole thing felt very rushed by guests and just felt like they did not put me and my husband first. Any thoughts?

  • If I'm reading this correctly, you came back in after taking pictures and mingled with your friends. I think it would be weird to go back out and be announced upon returning. However, it was rude for people to start eating before you and your husband. Depending on timing, cake cutting isn't really rude. If it was late, maybe people were tired or waiting and wanted to leave. You also don't say if you had dancing between dinner and cake cutting. That could also make a difference as to when people leave. I understand you are disappointed but you are married which is the important thing. Just focus on your life with your now husband.
  • Did you have an MC?

What were they supposed to be served while you were taking pictures?
