I love November.  I took down the few Halloween decorations I have on Saturday and replaced them with my Thanksgiving accents (though both are minimal, on top of the autumn decor).  Every Sunday that I can in Nov we also have a Thanksgiving-y meal, yesterday was a lemon-herb butter bone-in turkey breast, sweet potato casserole, and stuffing.  (Sides picked by the kids.)

It was so nice being off the day after Halloween.  I wish we could toss the set date and just make it the last Friday (or even better, Saturday) of Oct.  Rounded out the weekend with lots of grading, housecleaning, mass, and relaxing with the kids.
Trying to get exH to see the kids tomorrow since he's always off on Tuesdays and they're off for Election Day.  Speaking of which my parents were handing out Mamdani stickers along with candy on Friday night.  Fingers crossed!

You know, I “put away my halloween items” by leaving my gouls up (I’m a ghost hunter, It’s a year round thing) and putting my three pumpkins away in the garage - but now that I think of it, pumpkins can go back out. Lol.
Yesterday was long! But I got a lot done.
It was a great weekend with the family. Halloween went by too fast and of course, I’m sad. Although I really made it count and did a lot during the month of October. Saturday, I did some discount halloween shopping but Im going to Home Depot on my lunch to see what they have.
Although, after I used my amex card at walmart I got an email saying they suspected suspicious activity on it and are sending me a new one. I looked at my transactions and all legit and no crazy high priced items? It’s very annoying because it’s my main card and linked to A LOT of auto renewals and payment options. Ugh.

I have two decorative jack o-lanterns that I put on my mantle that have my kids' names as the teeth.  My decorating for Thanksgiving involves turning them around to be plain pumpkins.

    I can respect that. Lol.

Have trick or treating the last weekend of October, yes @ei34. Or just make it a federal holiday already ffs.

  • Halloween was great- the kids loved it! They did not do great with day light savings so sleep schedules are all out of wack. H started his new job today! And we got our house cleaned- I want to have it done all the time now!
  • The weekend was good.  We didn't have any TorT kiddos, but had some candy and left the light on, just in case.

Saturday, I had an all-day virtual education event.  I presented for an hour, and it went well.  We ordered out for dinner and binge-watched Cold Justice.  We went to bed without resetting clocks.  However, thankfully, most changes occur automatically.

I woke up at the usual time on Sunday, fed the cat and went back to bed.  I was still up early enough to get to church.  I did errands after church while DH watched football.  The Packer game wasn't televised here because of a scheduling conflict with the Vikings.  I listened to some of the game while running around.  Then I did fall clean-up outside.  I stored 100 pounds of corn in 5-gallon buckets for feeding the critters, changed out to a heated water bowl, took down the windchimes and shepherd's hooks, cut back perennials, watered bulbs, and rearranged pumpkins and mums to finish out until Christmas.  I came in at the end of the Vikings game and crashed for a while.  I'm a mentor for our middle-school confirmation kids, so I went back to church for that in the evening.

I'm thankful DH's mood has been good for several days.  It makes life SO much easier.  Not too busy this week, but I do have to be on-site for work tomorrow, so I'll be up early and have to dress professionally.
