Fri-yay

Phew, we made it.  Wishing everyone restful moments this weekend!

Re: Fri-yay

  • I hope you feel better soon @Casadena. Coming back to America would give you a massive headache lol

Not too much is happening today. I binge watched some Selling Sunset yesterday and got a little choked up watching the part that involves the LA fires. So much has happened this year but they truly were awful and devastating. Otherwise the show is doing what it does best and is reality TV drama-ing hard. H watched with me for awhile and asked "is this [episode] finally going to be a dinner without any drama?" Nope, buckle up because there's always drama. lol.

Tomorrow we are going over to the in-laws. They lost their dog over last weekend pretty traumatically when my elderly (almost 80 year old) MIL and her equally elderly dog were attacked by another dog. Multiple people ended up getting involved and two people were even bit by the other dog. They had to put their pup down because of how severe the injuries were and it was pretty sad. He was definitely something which kept her dementia at bay so I'm a little worried about what this means for her mental state in the future. She was going to be a wreck either way when he passed but this is especially bad. H is planning on decorating for Christmas for them tomorrow so hopefully that lifts their spirits a bit.

Sunday I don't have any plans and I like it that way. The only thing on my to do list is sleeping in.

  • @levioosa, omg!  I'm so sorry to hear about what happened to your MIL's dog.  Something like that happening to my dog is one of my worst nightmares.

We have a new tenant moving into one of our rentals in an hour, so I'm scarfing up lunch because I won't have a chance to eat until much later this afternoon.  She has been a long and odd story!  But it's not interesting enough to get into.  My H and I are unsure of her...but she's also paying last month's rent, which surprisingly isn't typical in our area...so we are giving her a chance.  Not counting COVID, the longest it has ever taken me to evict someone is 5 only weeks anyway jic this turns out to be a mistake.

Then a lot of errands.  The rest of the weekend should be relaxing.

That’s heartbreaking and so scary @levioosa, I’m so sorry to hear
  • That’s horrific @levioosa I’m so sorry. Did anything happen to the owner and the other dog? That’s all too horrible.
  • Things are fine. H’s first week of work has gone well, he’s going to camp tomorrow and Sunday. J still isn’t sleeping mostly due to daylight savings plus a little teething.

Work was rough this week. I’m doing therapy at 1 then generally taking the rest of the day off. I’m going to run and work out and rest. I’ll be online if people need be but I’m really hoping they don’t.

FIL is very much a man of least resistance so I don't think he's pressing charges or anything although he should. At the very least to get what I am sure was a very expensive emergency vet bill covered. Regardless something is going to happen because one of the people that was bit was a UPS driver who saw what was happening and pulled over to help. So it's all on camera from their truck and he was bit so badly he had to go to the ER. We are so lucky MIL escaped without any injuries herself. I don't want to be cruel, but if your dog is that violent, then probably it should be euthanized. The owner should be responsible for the medical fees for in-laws dog and the people that were injured. It was horrific to lose a pup, but what if MIL had been walking with a young child? Or had been seriously hurt herself? The dog was on a chain in the front yard and lunged so hard it broke off the chain.

  • Yikes that is horrific and I agree with you @levioosa.

Since that's a worker's comp claim that pet owner is likely to be hit hard with litigation and no dog should be allowed to do that.

What a story @levioosa, so sorry for your inlaws. How awful and your right about small children. Children often are magnetized to dogs they see.
Glad H likes the new job @charlotte989875
as much as your in Canada @Casadena, you should apply for dual citizenship lol.
GL with the tenant @“short+sassy"  Hopefully no problems arise.

i have a few shows this weekend and just bought a craft fair ticket for Sunday with a bunch of meet-uppers. I added a comedy show, trivia and Christmas themed haunted house in December. I won’t reserve a table for trivia because I’m still disgusted by the last minute no shows from last time. I’ll go in early, grab a table for a few and then not put the restaurant out thinking they have a party of 12 when it turns out to be 4 who “wanted to go out that day”.
