Our Friday and Saturday were great, one of the kids was up at 2am Sunday with a stomach bug, so we didn't make it to the Polar Express train ride yesterday.  Rides are completely sold out for the season so I'm trying to get a credit for another year.  All the crossables crossed that my other two kids don't get the bug.

TMI but my period has been kicking my butt lately.  I wish I was in bed right now.
  • @ei34 that’s a bummer, I’m sorry. Always wanted to take a kid on one of those. Any kid. I’m not picky. Lol.
Had a fantastic weekend. Friday my friend and I did Rocky Horror Picture show the musical and it was great.
Then on Saturday we did a immersive experience in the mall. Wondra. It was “meh” from all of us. Save your money if it comes to your city (@cassadena, kids may like it, but it’s still pricey for what it is). But then after we ate at the food court and shopped lol.
I haven’t been to a mall in years (and quickly remembered why) but I found some new stores that I like. Akira (never heard of them but they have different and unusual designs at good prices) and buckle, which I heard of before, but never shopped at. Cool clothing and decent prices as well. Oh, and the K-beauty shop got me too. Buy 3 skincare items get a free lip tint - I found the prettiest lip tint!  I was looking back at pictures we took at Wondra and I’m like “I actually like that on me!” Lol. We went to “haunting of hill house” play after all that shopping and I LOVED it. I started to re-watch the Netflix series and I’m like.. just as I thought, nothing like the book/play.
Sunday was brunch and a craft show but I was unimpressed with the craft show. Fun day with everyone though. We were supposed to get “a dusting all the way up to 12” of snow” over night. Very thankful my area only got the “dusting” portion of the snowfall because it’s too early to deal with snow removal yet. TBH, I didn’t even get around to my leaves.

  • Saturday we had breakfast out with the IL's and then went over to BIL/SIL's for a couple hours so the kids could play. It was very nice and fun and I definitely tend to have an attitude about these activities and it's something i need to work on for sure.

Yesterday we woke up to a couple inches of snow so we were bundled and playing outside by 8am. All melted by 2pm, repeated today! Sunny and nice now so i'm sure the new few inches will be melted by the time i leave. The rest of yesterday was football/movie/cleaning/playing/organizing.

We're having our house deep cleaned today/tomorrow before the holidays hit, so i'm in the office. It's an admin catch up day in between meetings for me. Expense reports, travel booking, email cleanup, invoices, etc etc.

So sorry about the train and sick kiddo @ei34 - hope everyone else stays healthy!
@CharmedPam glad most of the weekend was fun!

  • Weekend here was good! Saturday I did a day trip to some nearby wineries with a girlfriend group. It was really great bonding and spending the day together. One of our friends just found out that she was really badly betrayed by her now former best friend, so we got to rally and help her vent and blow off some steam from that grieving process.

It got really cold here last night too. It was like 70 Saturday and Sunday during the day, but dropped down for our first freeze overnight. Tonight it's supposed to be all the way to 22. So I guess I need to turn on the heat.
  • I didn't do too much this weekend.  I did get my bike!  Took it to the local repair shop and just needed a tune-up and one small part replaced.  Mechanic said they probably almost never rode it b/c the chain was still brand new and it was a nice bike.  My accessories should be here today so I can start riding!  Very excited.

Otherwise, just puttered around my place doing household stuffs.  The F1 race on Sunday was very disappointing.  Looks like my favorite driver will be coming in 2nd in the championship w/out a massive upset happening.  3 races left, so it's not impossible, but improbable.  Watched a few movies and just generally relaxed.
  • We got to Chicago yesterday. DD was to arrive home last night around 8 but her flight was canceled. SIL left on a business trip to Europe at 1:30 so we were to fill in the gap time. However, DD didn't get home until around 4:30 this afternoon which was better than tomorrow afternoon. We handled school and preschool drop off this morning but the nanny was here in the afternoon. We are just thankfully everyone arrived at their destinations safely. We are here until Thursday just to be second hands and to bridge the gap between when DD leaves for work and nanny arrives. SIL usually doesn't leave for work until she gets here.

I have a zoom board meeting tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully I remember to sign in! Things get a little crazy around here in the afternoon after everyone is home from school.
