    I can't believe how long I've been congested for.  No other symptoms, just intense congestion, for weeks.  Part of me wants to pop into an urgent care to rule out a sinus infection, but there isn't really sinus pressure.  Idk, just annoying.  

    ExH took the kids to the mall after school yesterday (he said it was their Christmas visit) and I was able to knock out all the teacher gifts.  It felt good to knock such a big item off the to-do list.  This evening should be quiet, thankfully.

    Wait, it’s only Tuesday?
    so @ei34, he won’t see them until after Christmas? 

    We swapped out wfh days from Tuesday to Monday so we can be in the office today to pack boxes and load a truck for tomorrow’s charity event. I’m not going to sound very charitable, but this is going to take a lot of work AND we’re standing out in what looks like 35 degree weather tomorrow. It’s for a homeless shelter, and yeah we probably have 4 hours of it, while they LIVE it, but couldn’t we do this in spring, fall, summer? Although, historically, our Decembers haven’t been this cold and snowy in a long time, so we probably weren’t expecting that while planning. And 35-38 is actually a heatwave for us!

    Exhausted today. HAve book club tonight which will be fun. Low motivation all around but trying to power through as much work as possible so i don't have to worry the next couple weeks.

    Some local good news.

    ICE agents descended upon NOLA over Thanksgiving weekend and planned to stay through Dec.  Their "goal" was to arrest 5K undocumented residents or "cough" suspect are undocumented "cough".

    But with half the month gone, they know they'll fall FAR SHORT of their target and have only arrested about 350 people so far, LMAO.  They're leaving soon so they don't waste any more resources here.

    In these terrible times, it's at least been heartening to see how much this city's residents have risen against ICE.  Before their arrival, it was spread like wildfire that they are not allowed to cross anyone's property line (commercial and residential) unless they have a warrant.  Construction sites/restaurants/hotels/etc are telling agents to GTFO and they can't go past the sidewalk.

    I’m fully in “is that a today problem or a January problem” and most of the things are January problems. I still have gifts to get but I think we’re pretty much squared away at this point, now it’s just getting everything wrapped and kept hidden!
