Fri-yay

We made it! Wishing all moments of relaxation and joy these next couple days.

Re: Fri-yay

  • I keep forgetting we have a long weekend. My company just started giving us MLK day last year so it's not a habit yet. Looking forward to having kiddos at home with us an extra day :)
  • @Casadena, I would trade MLK day for a day in Oct or Nov. it’s too close to NYD off! But it’s nice. I put together a day at a small town in Wisconsin for Sunday so I won’t have cabin fever.
Last night, after work, I drove 50 minutes one way for my microneedle/RF. When I gave them my name the receptionist said “no, it’s tomorrow at 6”. I wanted to be like “are you sure? Because I NEVER put an appt in my calendar on the wrong day before?!?” But I just rescheduled for another day since I made plans tonight and wasn’t sure about the snow fall we’re getting. I think it’s all done for the day, but yesterday wgn told us scattered snow on Friday. I hate driving in it, let alone that distance. I stopped off at Marshalls to kill time and let rush hour traffic thin out a bit. I love the finds there. Especially the beauty section. I found a designer dress (Rachel Roy, which I never heard of) with a suggested retail price of $189 for only $15 on clearance! So, not a total loss I guess?

  • No long weekend here but it's not too packed and the kids have a long weekend so I fully expect Chiquita to make the most of her time to reacquaint herself with quadratic equations and other Algebra II things.

I'm subbing tomorrow night to cantor at church but Sunday afternoon I'm free to completely convert the house from Christmas to "regular time".  The next major change will be in about 6 weeks for St. Patrick's Day.

  • SSDD here. Poor H is really struggling with his mental health. He's debating starting his medication again. I'm definitely not opposed to it but we had a discussion about getting on a routine and setting some boundaries regarding news. Hopefully that helps.  We also received a notice from our local councilwoman that I C E has been checking into several hotels in our city and I have a sick feeling about it.

Otherwise, not too much else is going on. I spoke to my Grandparents last night and just felt really grateful to have them in my life. I really lucked out with them. We have a breakfast brunch for MIL's Bday on Sunday. Monday I might have another interview? Unless I killed my chance for the job with my salary ask, I have no idea why this next interview is necessary. I've already been offered the job.

  • Oh wow @levioosa! Congrats. Odd if it’s really another interview. Maybe more of a briefing?

  • Wait you have the job and they’re still making you interview @levioosa? That seems strange.

Baby J was up all night and I’m tired. H stayed up late working and was in a mood this morning. I calmly called him out on it and he acknowledged it but c’mon - why do I always have to point out you shouldn’t roll your eyes and say rude stuff?

We had a snow day yesterday but they’re back at school today, Mnis home Monday but J’s daycare is open!

Annoying on the double interview @levioosa.  You were absolutely right to ask for more pay

Just some grading this evening along with our pizza/movie night.  Tomorrow is busy - the kids have drama rehearsal from 9-3 and I'll be volunteering there as well.  Lots of candy grams to assemble and costumes to help create.  Then swimming practice at 3:30...although if the kids seem tired or ask to skip, I'd definitely be happy to oblige.  Sunday is mass and then a pop into the city.  Monday is thankfully quiet- the kids and I will probably visit my parents earlier in the day.
  • @CharmedPam @charlotte989875 I've had...two formal interviews, a job offer for per diem, a third informal interview/discussion about full time, then full time offer and a full time offer discussion, and this next interview was poised as a meet and greet with another admin to talk about the full time position...but the offer was already made and I already countered. So I really really hope I don't have to meet with and talk to another person about all of the things I've already done. I don't even know if I'll take the position. I'm not leaving my current benefits and seniority unless the pay is significantly better because I know some of the other benefits won't be as good. The work life balance may be better but also I wouldn't be vested for 2-3 years, and I'd be going back to a 5 day work week instead of 4. And are we even staying in the country? I'm literally sick with all of these decisions.
