Tuesday

How's everyone today?  Vibes for a smooth week to all!

Re: Tuesday

  • I am tired but nothing is really going on. I had my interview yesterday, which was fine I guess. Just trying to keep my head over water. I anticipate today will be rough because yesterday was a holiday and the clinic was closed and it was a weekend. Otherwise, SSDD. Thinking of everyone!

It's quiet here.  It is midterms week, so students only have to be in if they have a midterm or Regents (state test) exam to take.  We keep our usual hours but it's just administering exams and some grading. I'm reading an English Regents to a double time student (the test usually takes 3 hours, he gets 6, plus tests read.  I prefer reading this to reading a math or science test, but will definitely be on vocal rest later lol).

Weekend was nice.  The extra day was awesome to have.  I got a lot done but still had a good amount of downtime.  Should be a quiet evening with no activities which is always nice.
  • Nice that you were able to get a lot done @ei34. I was opposite. Did nothing. It was 6 degrees but I still went out for a nail fill. Did some diamond dots. Watched a lot of TV. Sunday was my Saturday and we went to a nearby town for girls “day” out lol.
I love that it’s a wfh day because I don’t see myself going out today either

  • Took the boys to see Zootopia 2 on Saturday, it was really cute and they had fun. Sunday was the indoor driving range. Rest of the weekend was just hanging out. Felt great to have a 3 days weekend.
  • Kids have a snow day after a holiday long weekend and everything is closed because of the weather. We’re bringing out presents we hid after Christmas and hoping for the best!
  • Soooo cold today!

Chiquita has midterms through Thursday.  That last one is the dreaded Algebra II and she's been doing a packet of problems for the class in the hopes that she's prepared.  We're watching the weather for a possible blizzard Sunday into Monday.  It's too early to tell but obviously exciting given our usual lack of snow.

I have an annoying meeting at 3 with an account that is so much paperwork for so little reward.  I'm hoping it goes OK.
  • We are settled into our apartment in Evanston. It is very spacious but the living room furniture leaves a lot to be desired. The place is a 1955 building with owners on the garden level and first floor and this apartment on the 2nd. They have kept a lot of the original stuff - blue tile and fixtures in one bathroom and pink tile and fixtures in the half bath. The kitchen had really cute vintage looking wall paper. The whole vibe is adorable except that the vintage furniture needs to be restuffed. You  can feel springs and things when you sit on it. The beds are nice (king size in each room) and newish foam mattresses. They also don't have access to local TV stations (at least that I can figure out). They have Roku which allows us to access local news but not programming on the main stations. I can stream some stuff on my computer and I will be doing a lot of reading.

We have gone to the local Y to workout today and yesterday. It is nice and only a 7 minute drive. Oh and did I mention how cold it is? -10 with the wind chill today. I'm getting the full show of winter that I need to decide about moving. We also looked at two houses today. One was a hard no. The other was adorable and if we were ready to make an offer right now it would be a contender. However they already have between 5 and 10 offers so no way it will be available when we are ready. It is 4 minutes from DD's house! We are headed over this evening to watch the youngest while the twins and parents go to First Reconciliation. We are getting to know the drive between our two places very well.
