Prudie Day

Happy Prudie Day - looking forward to judging other people's drama instead of my own for the day!

Re: Prudie Day

  • Hoping everyone is safe and warm!

H finally got an interview, and it's for a job he really wants. They did ask him to do something for the interview that has me raising an eyebrow, but because of the type of job I'll let it slide. If circumstances were different the requirement would be a red flag for sure though. Poor H has less than a week to prep and prepare. I'm nervous for him but trying to be the calm support system.

Otherwise, SSDD. Also looking forward to other people's drama because times are bleak. It's supposed to rain today but I think it will be a light rain. Last night I finally did some weights and got to use my new boxing workout toy. It was fun although I wish the set up was a little better. I definitely got the budget version but for what it is it works just fine. And I was able to get my favorite tennis shoes on a crazy good sale which was perfect timing because I realized the other day that I'm getting shin splints whenever I work out now, and even though my shoes still mostly "look" okay that definitely means it's time for a new pair.

  • Is he having to do sample work or a presentation @levioosa? That’s also a reddish flag for me but it’s become so common unfortunately.

J has another ear infection and another rash. Poor kid can’t win. We kept him home since he was up attacking ton last night cranky and uncomfortable. Which means I’m also a little cranky and tired today.
  • Poor J @charlotte989875, he really can’t catch a break
This is probably on yesterday’s or Tuesday’s post but congrats on the move @ILoveBeachMusic.  I really like that area

We move to our downtown office first week of July. Apparently the VP told our admin we’d have some “leeway” given our commute, but I still don’t know what that means? We’re already at 3 days in, 2 WFH.  I reeeeeeally don’t want to look for a new job and I am worried now.

Good luck to your H @levioosa!
Ugh not again @charlotte989875! Poor guy. Healing vibes baby J’s way

Very busy day at work but just getting home to an empty *quiet* house. The kids have drama rehearsal until 5 and it’s not my turn driving the carpool.

We don't know if we are definitely moving. We are here for 5 weeks to check out areas and houses to see what we can afford. Geez houses are expensive here and then there is the property tax. We've only looked at 4 houses so far. 2 in Park Ridge and 2 in Arlington Heights. Only 1  in PR would be a contender but they are already in a bidding war and we aren't ready to make an offer. We were in Arlington Heights today and really liked that area, but again very little on the market.
  • We had a fun night with grandson 3. He was so excited to sleepover in our apartment. We ordered pizza from the bakery that our landlord owns and got cookies too. He pronounced them high thumbs up! We then watched Kung FU Panda 4. He slept in a king size bed and they have 8 pillows on it (who puts 8 pillows on a bed?!). He looked like a little bunny snuggled down in a nest. We took him to iHop this morning and he chowed down. He couldn't wait to tell his big brothers about being the first to sleepover at Nana and Papa's apartment. We will have each of the twins over by themselves sometime during the next few weeks. It is nice to have some one on one time.

  • @charlotte989875 yeah, he has to craft a proposal that I would call in depth (the letter made it seem casual and then listed out a ton of info requirements that would be basically impossible to create in 1-2 pages). Because of where the job will be this is an orange flag for me instead of a red one, but I still think it's BS to ask on the first interview. It's a position which to me should have two interviews (3 max) with the first one being screening, and then the second or third asking for something like this. Normally I think places that ask for this type of thing are a big pile of shit. I still kind of think that but in this one specific job, I'm rolling my eyes and hoping for the best. It's as close to a dream job as H has been able to figure out for himself, and it would have a ton of potential and room for growth and pretty solid benefits. Plus H would be doing something he's more passionate about. So fingers crossed.

    Healing vibes to baby J!
