Today is my late day at work so I actually made our corned beef and soda bread on Sunday, and our potatoes and cabbage this morning.  I'll do a gentle reheat in a low oven later, not perfect, but I'd never get the holiday meal finished if it waited until after work.

I'm dragging a bit bc we had such high winds overnight that the power kept getting knocked out.  It was brief each time, but the fridge, dishwasher etc are "smart" appliances and kept singing their little songs each time they powered back on.  Definitely a FWP and I'm sure I'll sleep better tonight.

Not too much happening over here. Attended a zoom book club last night and enjoyed it. There’s another one (in person) tonight I might try to join. I’m still a little tired from the 3 hours of sleep I had yesterday but I’m feeling much better and I slept pretty well.

We have soda bread at home too and I’m looking forward to some of that as dessert tonight.

  • Another benefit of WFH is that I don't have to deal with telling everyone that I don't like wearing green, I don't care what date it is.  Otherwise, Happy St. Patrick's day.

I haven't been around much.  Work has been busy.  I've been having some feels b/c my promotion is definitely being held up.  Then I remembered that I don't find my self worth through work and I do an excellent job bringing a lot of knowledge and experience.  I can't control the feelings of someone sitting 2 rungs above me and I also don't want to do a bunch of "free" work to get them to "like" me.  So pish-posh, back to normal.

Otherwise life has been pretty simple lately.  Just building bricks, F1, and other stuffs to stay busy.

    oooh that sounds annoying @ei34
Nice to see you pop in @VarunaTT. I hate work red tape :( I guess all red tape lol.

I actually left my homechef meal that had potatoes in it by accident. Soooo kinda themed? I also worked out for the first time in forever. Tried to steer clear of my tailbone but I love my water rower. I think I was a tad bit hard on it though. Tonight is “reminders of him” with some friends. Ive read 3 books in the last 15 years, and one of them was that. You’d think my friends would be more impressed by it than they are.

  • Glad you checked in, @VarunaTT.  Your thoughts on worth and work are exactly what I'm trying to remember after my title demotion during our restructuring.

I'm WFH until Friday.  DH had a nephrology appointment this afternoon, but he's got a stomach bug, so we were able to change it to a video visit.  That worked out pretty well.  I'll need to run and get him a new prescription after work.  We'll probably graze for dinner as my stomach doesn't feel great either.
