Still extremely chilly here.  Forget the 50s/60s, I'd love the 40s at this point.  Just tired of seeing my breath lol.

We had a fun city day yesterday (Museum of Natural History /Central Park) with friends.  Today, sadly, we have a wake for a local mom who battled cancer for seven years but passed away on Saturday. Her kids are in 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th grade, and my kids have all been in class with the older two.  Just incredibly sad.  I'm preparing my own kids for what to expect at a wake bc their only other two (my uncle and my grandmother) they were extremely young and don't remember.

Construction continues - we have walls in our office and family room again! Kids are on a first name basis with the drywall/painting crew and i need to pick out pain colors asap. It's my least favorite decorating activity and typically takes me a very long time.

G has Karate tonight and I really really don't feel like cooking/cleaning up. Considering takeout on the way home. Otherwise maybe breakfast for dinner.

    Prudie soon!

@ei34 I’m so sorry for your loss

@casadena one of the ways I help narrow down ideas is by picking a piece of artwork I know I want in the room, then I design colors and textures around it. It makes it feel less daunting than looking at the wall of paint options.

SSDD here. I signed up for Pilates and have done that twice so far. I think as far as Pilates goes it’s “Pilates-Lite” given it’s at the “big box” gym. However it’s great as I’m getting back into it. I think it might also be instructor dependent because I did one class at a different location and that class kicked my ass a few months ago.

  • I  sorry @ei34

Baby J still not sleeping and I’m so tired. It’s pretty quiet here because a lot of folks are on vacation, so it’s a nice break before nexts weeks chaos. M is off school and hanging with my mom today. We’ve managed to go the last two hours without TV!

Hi ladies!  I missed you guys.  Work has been kicking my butt and they're about to find out they just made a mountain that I'm willing to die on.  I'm pointing out that they just put a massive responsibility into my position and I do not have a JD or malpractice insurance or pay to support such a task.  I'm furious about it and I'm going to refuse to do it.

I'm getting ready to go out of town tomorrow for a much needed break.  We're going to the Lego store!! and to see a women's tackle football game.  It just sounded like something fun and different to do.  Plus I'll have my core group of friends together and I think it'll provide a much needed reset.

My blood sugar, A1c, and cholesterol came back in a healthier range.  My HDL did kinda bottom out though, but TBH, I haven't been super great about taking my fish oil, so I need to get on that.  I've lost between 30-40 pounds depending on the scale used.  Though the weight loss isn't the point of me taking the medication, it's definitely such a nice side development.  I need to start exercising, but I haven't defeated that mountain yet.

I had to drop $700 on Harley to discover that she makes herself sick when the sunshine goes away.  Darn cat.  Thank goodness for pet insurance.  I'm going to make myself get her teeth cleaned this year, since I've met that deductible.  Her being so small makes me nervous about her going under anesthesia, but I do trust my vet.

Otherwise, life is just moving on.  I've started meeting with my roommate to be.  We keep giggling, b/c we are actually making a roommate agreement.  But we both believe it'll be healthier to discuss expectations for 2 grown women moving in together.  There's a lovely apartment that I want very badly; it's a bit over the budget we sent by about $130 but she's willing to look and see if it's worth it to her.  I've agreed if she says no, I either accept it or I pony up the entire difference which isn't something I can responsibly do.  It's huge, has a lovely inside staircase balcony with a landing large enough to provide an extra room, has a garage door that actually opens to the outside, and has actually been decorated to look like a home and not just an apartment.  I can't wait to get out of this studio.

I hope everyone is doing well.  There's a lot to catch up on!

Good to “see” you! @VarunaTT I’m sorry to hear about the stresses at work. Why are employers like this. I hope everything works out and works out quickly!
