It's been the busiest week as far as full evenings this week, thankfully today once I'm home, I'm home.  Phew.
Earlier today a student who doesn't usually elope, eloped.  I found him in the funniest place - he was rehearsing with the 8th/9th grade chorus who has a concert tonight.  The choral teacher hadn't even realized he was there (it was a good twenty kids, and he was in focusing-on-the-piano mode).  The kid was in heaven, he loves to sing.

Lol @ei34. I'm glad he was somewhere safe.

SSDD here. H is spending the next few days watching my parent's dogs. I hope mentally he does okay there. I'm definitely not a "woo-woo" person but that house has had a foul darkness ever since I was a kid. When you walk in you can just feel the mental illness and depression. I told him if it gets too overwhelming he needs to bring the dogs to our place (something I already tried to do to begin with).

  • I'm just over it today. I'm taking off tomorrow for our trip, so just trying to tie up a few loose ends to be out a few days. Tonight I've got a pedi and then pack the last couple of things, but I'm pretty much ready to go. Which is good since I have to leave at 6 for the airport.
  • Hey all!  Popping in again.  Sitting around the house I never have much to report, lol.  But I do miss catching up with your all's posts.

I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel after my two surgeries.  The drain on my left hip was taken out 9 days ago.  That was also the first time the surgical bandages (two months!) were removed from both hips.  I started feeling normal again without all the "stuff" attached to me, though the drain removal upped my pain for a few days.

FF to today and I am feeling a lot better, almost 100%.  I still have mild pain and discomfort in both hips, but much longer periods of time without it.

NOLA had a cool event last weekend in celebration of the US 250th birthday.  It was called "Sail 250" and featured old-timey looking ships.  They were big!  But with dozens of sails.  Most of them seemed to come from other country's navies and that was neat to see also.  I hope the visiting sailors had fun toodling around the French Quarter in their off time.

On a personal note, this was the first time I'd felt up to leaving the house for something fun since my surgeries. For more perks, the event was a short walk from Harrah's.  I had a free $25 food coupon that I used to pay for most of our lunch, $10 in slot play that netted me $30 cash, and I also had a free bottle of vodka to pick up as a gift.

  • @short+sassy so glad to see you! I'm happy to read that you are doing much better and hope that continues.

Nothing much going on here. I ran lots of errands yesterday and spent too much time at the pharmacy. Somehow they didn't have my prescription supplement to Medicare information. It took about an half hour to ge that done. Then only a 30 day supply for a medication I've been taking for years was allowed. Not a big deal, but it is nice to get 90 day supplies so that I don't have to go to the pharmacy as often. Hopefully that will change after a few months.
