This evening should be pretty lowkey.  Tomorrow we have a local Pride event followed by a charity softball game.  Sunday the kids are serving at the 9am mass and then we'll head over to my parents' house for a swim and visit.  So thankfully not too busy.
  • My weekend is being taken over by world cup. Tonight is the first game for the US, so we're gathering up a group of neighbors and going to the sports bar up the street. Tomorrow I'm going to get out on the river with a friend. We'll either do the paddleboards or just float in the tubes, depending on the mood. Her son is 8 and is dying to play in the river, so we'll probably do whatever he wants. Then tomorrow night we'll grill out and watch some games.

Sunday I'm going to try to get in a hike before it gets to hot, and then a bunch of games on tv in the afternoon and evening. The first game here is Monday, so we're going to take my nephew to the fan village and hang out. I'm still checking all the sites for tickets, but I refuse to pay the outrageous scalper prices. I'm still kind of holding out hope that there will be some last minute price drops on Monday morning, but I doubt it.
  • A relatively lowkey weekend here.   I'm having lunch and wine with my bookclub ladies.  One has a birthday this week so I'm hitting up a local great bakery for some macarons.

Sunday should be low key.  No more baseball and Chiquita needs to be in study mode for finals.  4 to go after today!

Throw me into that lowkey group too. I had a so-so gynecologist appointment after work. I have a few fibroids, one larger than 5 cm.   My reg gyn mentioned a procedure (acessa) that can shrink them instead of getting a hysterectomy later down the line. She seemed positive about it and said it helped a lot of people. I got the name/number of someone she recommended.

Without getting into great detail, I found the doctor arrogant and said things that just led to him not understanding my position. I wasn’t in excruciating pain like many, or had bad break through bleeding etc, so he wouldn’t recommend it. But he also mentioned something about not outright owning the machines so I also felt like he DIDN’T want to do it. I asked my friends if I was over reacting by getting a second opinion from a woman who does know what it’s like having a uterus (he even admitted he didn't know what it was like to have one. - followed with an emphasis of THANK GOD. Thanks). Anyway, the female gyn I did call said no one in her practice really did this procedure either because it’s new(ish) and not a lot of training. My original doc wanted me to wait for another ultrasound to check on growth. He wasn’t a no, but I’m impatient and who knows how long I have this insurance. I know we get new plans next year if my position is kept but this is usually covered by many plans I would assume. Wwyd?

I wish insurance wasn't such a cluster. I hope you can find someone who gives you more clarity on the procedure if/when it should be done and with good timing @CharmedPam

Busy day at work today. I have a facial tonight and she kind of bugged me yesterday by asking in three separate texts if I could come earlier. No, I booked 6 pm for a reason, if you don't want an appointment at that time on your schedule (for your self-owned business) then don't make that time available! I went to her a few years ago, she's okay for facials. TBH though she's not my favorite, but she's also the cheapest I can find in the area now. Everyone else wants $125-150 for an hour long facial which is crazy.

Otherwise I have an appointment for Botox tomorrow and the nail salon on Sunday. I cannot wait to freeze my face again lol. They are having a sale and I have $70 off so I'm hoping I escape for a low cost.

  • Low-key weekend planned at our house.  Will probably get takeout for dinner tonight.  Hope to work on my flower beds on Saturday.  Sunday, I'm the worship leader at church, and DH will need to be home alone for an hour or so.  I hate to give up the few volunteer gigs I have, but it might come to that.

They are sealcoating our street today as a reschedule due to rain on Monday.  We can't walk on it for 4 hours or drive on it for 24 hours.  They aren't here yet, so it'll be Saturday afternoon before I can bring the car back.  Not a biggie, just a hassle. But the other sections they've done look great.

We saw palliative care yesterday.  It went well. At this point, they made recommendations to our PCP. In the future, we can sign up for in-home visits from a team assigned to our city quadrant.  Good to know. She also referred us for home therapy and a pharmacist visit to make sure his meds are optimized.  Overall, very helpful.  I did get tearful during the visit because things can be sooo overwhelming.  The provider confirmed we are doing the right things.

All the vibes your way @MNNEBride, although it sounds like a very informative appointment, that's a lot to take in
@CharmedPam ugh, arrogant doctors are the worst, I'm sorry
@banana468 Good luck studying Chiquita!  So close to the end!
  • It sounds like you are @MNNEBride! Best of luck
