Wedding Woes

Muggy Monday

Whew it has been hot here. Over 100 every day and humid too. I hope everyone is staying cool!

Weekend was okay. On Friday we went out to dinner with my parents and that went as well as it could have for the day it was. I got my face microneedled on Saturday. I bought a super sexy full face hat that is honestly as funny as it is hideous. I'm wearing it every time there's a hint of sun. That's the price I pay for choosing a procedure in the middle of summer. Sunday I got my nails done and I'm super unhappy with them. My usual person was out so it was someone else and it reminded me why I started doing my own nails during COVID. It was not worth the money I paid. Otherwise, SSDD. I get to use sunscreen tomorrow and I'm happy about it. We're also watching the corniest romance on Peacock called Seeking Persephone. It's basically if one of those dime store Regency Era Romance novels became an actual show. I'm both impressed by how much it's just a bad romance novel made for screen and that they captured the feeling of one of those novels so perfectly in film.

Thinking of you today @ei34

Just caught up on Friday posts.

@ei34 sending all the good thoughts/prayer/etc to you.

@levioosa glad your family was able to be together on a hard day

Weekend was nice, first time we haven't had a milllion things going on in awhile. Test drove a car that we really liked to replace H's 12 year old sedan.

I haven't been feeling great lately and i need to get in a see my PCP - have a gyn appointment next month. EXTREME fatigue to the point that I'm taking multiple short naps throughout the day the last few weeks and I am not a napper. Sleep all night and don't feel rested even a little in the morning. No nausea but headaches frequently. Also feeling crampy like i'm going to start my period any day but no period after 3 weeks. Not sure if it's perimenopause things, thyroid (my mom has a thyroid condition diagnosed around my age), something else? I've take 2 pregnancy tests in the last 2 weeks that have both been negative (THANK GOODNESS) but it almost feels like the wave of exhaustion and depletion i remember from early pregnancy. We'll see.

Thumbs down on the weather and the botched nail job @levioosa
Ugh @Casadena I just told a friend that my recent exhaustion feels comparable to pregnancy!  (Like you, I'm definitely not.)  Totally depleted and napping every day which isn't like me...I'm between blaming perimenopause and the heat, though it hasn't been too hot here with the exception of a couple days last month.  I also see my PCP next week. Healthy vibes your way!

The procedure went okay.  I'm home and icing and resting (sort of).  I was told no heavy lifting or swimming for a few days which is tricky considering we're going to Great Wolf Lodge tomorrow, just an overnight (it was the twins' experience gift for their birthday last week...not my first choice, but they love it, and I had a 50% room coupon).
  • Yes it was SO muggy here today. My hair would not dry this morning. I finally just went out with a “it is what it is” attitude. @levioosa, I love a good pro mocroneedle. I was getting IPL’s too but the lady also told me not to get them in Summer as well. I actually bought an at he device but obviously the results aren’t the same.
@casadena, that sounds like peri. I too am always exhausted. Another feeling I had no idea that was perimenopause was the depressed feeling. I just thought it was my life. Nope. Hormones.
@ei34, so glad it’s over! And oh no what bad timing for tomorrow’s fun events :(

Weekend was a lot of fun. The boys are riots. We were in the car all talking to each other but the youngest, 3, must have gotten bored hearing about his 9 year old brother’s oil tycoon future so belts out Queen, bohemian rhapsody. 3! I caught it on video. I love my visits (epically in the summer)but 5 hours each way is a LONG drive.
