DIY Invitation Kit-Print at Home Pocket Style

Ok, I have 175 Print at Home Invitations I'd like to get started on, but I need some help.

I've seen on here where the clear shipping address labels are a no-no. Really? I thought these would be safer than running my envelopes through my printer (which isn't a straight feed) that way if I misspelled anything or if my printer ate an envelope I'd be better off since I don't have any extra envelopes.

Also, how can i get the font and print to look nice? Should I try the "best" printing option on instead of fast draft or everyday? Does anyone think it will matter. I wish I could have gotten thermography printing :(

I'm on budget so a calligrapher is out of the question. My date is 11-10-12 so I'm not in a rush but I just don't want wait around either then be stressed out when I could have been working on them as time pasted.

Ideas? Tips? Tricks?

Thanks!!

  •  I say do what makes you happy(: If you want them to be clear use clear. When my best friend got married we hand wrote all the addresses (350 yikes!!!!!!) Sorry if it didn't help. I know you can use word and use address labels they aren't to expensive and they are easy to find. Good luck(:
  • I'm only using clear addres lables as my RSVP return envelopes, but my mom is helping me write out all the addresses. I think it's much more personable when you write them out. I have 300 guests, so it wil take a while. My date is 10/5/12 and we already started.
  • I would write mine as well if I knew I wouldn't mess up! I'm so scared that I will leave out a letter in a name or the writing won't be consistant...I'm slightly perfectionist so I think I will do the labels. I know it's not up to ediquette standards but it's really my only option I guess.

What If I handwrote the labels? LOL! That way if I messed I could start over? My concern is I don't have ANY extra envelopes :(
  • The only reason clear labels are considered a no-no is because etiquette states you should handwrite the addresses rather than type them. That being said, if you want to use the labels, use the labels. I've received more invites lately with typed labels instead of handwritten and I can honestly say I have not been offended they didn't take the time to write my address out.
