I'm sad and it's stupid

Sorry to be posting so much :-/

We do show tshirts for our plays.  I took the orders and money from the kids, ordered the shirts, and handed them out yesterday.  Today one of my kids said, "where's my shirt?"  Ummm...there aren't anymore.

I think I remember her paying me but she never filled out an order form.  She says she told me size via email but I can't find it (and I don't ever delete anything).  Since I didn't have it in writing, her shirt didn't get ordered.

I do have one more.  Mine.  I offered it to her, knowing it was two sizes too big for her and figured she'd turn down the offer.  Nope, she took it.  So now I don't have a shirt :-(

In the long run it's so not a big deal, and it's more important to me that she have the shirt instead of me.  But it does bum me out.  I was looking forward to wearing it around school to advertise the show.

Is it bad that I'm kind of hoping she'll see just how big it is tomorrow and decide she doesn't want it?

Aw, I've actually done that before .... the parent of the student later apologized to me that the student had NOT given me an order form and NEVER told me her size and was grateful I gave up my shirt.  Since that time, anytime I order shirts for the band, chorus, whatever... I usually order 1 extra "medium" (most kids don't mind adjusting if the extra shirt needed is a different size), and when I work with high school students, I order 1 extra "XL" because a boy never minds going one size bigger if a smaller size is needed! :-)

Sorry you're sad, I would be too!!

You know, I almost ordered an extra and then didn't.  Next year I will definitely be ordering an extra medium.  This is our first year doing this, second time with shirts, and both times kids said after the fact "I wish I'd ordered one!"

That's stinks!!  Definitely order more next year.  :P  Can you paint your own?  Buy a cheap shirt from Wal-Mart and then do the design yourself (or your version)?  That's what I would do!!  :)  Good luck!!  Sorry you had to give up your shirt, but it's good of you to!!

H suggested taking it to one of those screen print places in the mall.  I just might do that.  I can get it redone through our tshirt guy but the reprint fee would make it a $50 shirt! No thanks!

Aww sorry. I understand how you feel. You did the right thing though by offering it to her. The screen print idea is a good one! Hopefully you can do that!
