Rehearsal dinner invites?

Are you gals sending rehearsal dinner invites? Or are you just letting the people involved know through an intinerary or word of mouth kind of thing?

I have seen invites a couple of times but generally don't see them.

What do you guys think??

We are not doing RD invites...just word of mouth. Those that are in the BP know about it of course, and then we are just letting family that is in town know about it too. It's at my FMIL house, so it's nothing fancy like a restaurant where we need to have definite numbers. Either way though...you can't go wrong.

You could always go the evite route on this one.

I was thinking about doing it, but it's everyone who's going to the rehearsal, so I'll just keep them up-to-date via email.

I didn't do invites for the RD but we didn't invite any extra out of town guests or family so like kthame we just had the same people from the rehearsal so I just emailed! GL!

I was thinking about doing an invite, but now I'm thinking about evites because it is mostly just family.

FMIL and FFIL are planning the RD, and FMIL really wanted to do paper invites - so she did. They're really cute and were probably fairly inexpensive.
As PPs said, evites, phone calls, emails and invites are all acceptable IMO.
I guess I'm not helpful at all...sorry!

We did paper invites. While the guest list was the same for the people at the rehearsal, it was technically thrown by my IL's and it was their major contribution to our wedding. Thus, I wanted there to be something with their name on it and I know they appreciated it.

I made my invites in photoshop and printed them at home. It took a total of maybe an hour or two and about $10. PIB (planning bio) if you want to take a look.

I also opted to do rehearsal dinner invites, but for mega cheap (thank goodness for Vistaprint!) since I had spent a good chunk of change for my wedding invites.

I opted not to do an Evite since everyone would be able to see the invitees - we are having a small wedding (100 ppl) and our rehearsal dinner is already up to 40 ppl.

Not to sound bridezilla-esque, but I wanted to avoid any awkwardness of why someone was NOT invited given that we kept it to immediate family and out of town guests.

Had we invited our non-family close friends, we would have ended up having almost our entire wedding guests list there!

We are having invitations. There's a link to an image in my bio under "paper goods." It doesn't really capture the pearlescent sheen of the paper, but you'll get the idea.

Our wedding has quite a few out of town guests, so it'll be pretty large (around 60).
