Music Question...

We have finally found a decent price for a bad, but it is for 3 hours, meaning they do not start until dinner is over...so, what are we supposed to do for introductions?!?!?  And our daddy/daugther, mother/son, and first dance?  Has anyone else had this issue?  Please help!  TIA!

you could book a dj for just a few hours and since its only like a couple hours it should be relatively inexpensive. I can give you a referral if you need one. Otherwise, you can book live singers for a few hours, ipod it, or hire a few string musicians to play during cocktail and stay a few extra hours.

i think an emcee is important for introductions because they know how to get the crowd going and change songs without awkward gaps. see if a DJ will come set up all his stuff for an hour at a good rate.

Usually most bands load in a few hours in advance although their play time is usually only 3 hours (+ 2 breaks). Most of the bands i received quotes from do include the Emcee work, introductions, etc....they also offer the opportunity to play cd/ipod during the few hours before their play time. I would try to negotiate that into the contract.

Yeah, like the PP said. Our band only plays for 3 hours, but does all the Emcee and intros and cocktail music, etc. I would ask them just to make sure.
