Bouquet and Garter Toss

So the traditional toss/fling the bouquet and garter is kinda old, but I still wanna do it. I was thinking of having all the singles come up there and have a dance off between the girls and between the guys. And then the Bride would pick the winner of the girls and the Groom would pick the winner of the guys. Would that be weird, time consuming, or awkward?

It would be weird, time consuming, and awkward. Don't do this.

If you want to do the bouquet/garter toss, do them as they have traditionally be done. Otherwise, just skip them entirely. Trying to re-invent these aspects of the reception never goes well.

I disagree with the other post. If it's something you really want to do, go for it! I would recommend not taking longer than a few minutes to do the whole thing, but if your crowd would be really into it, why not!

I think it depends on your friends, family and guests. Are they the dance off type? Will they get out there and shake it?

Also invite everyone but maybe "just happen to choose" the singles to be the winners

Agree.  The bouquet/garter toss is awkward enough in my opinion.  No need to make the whole thing even more awkward.  The only way I could see this working is if either of you are actively part of a break dancing or some other kind of dancing group and you're inviting a bunch of people that would be into this.  Otherwise... please no.

Thanks for the opinions. In all the weddings I've been in or been to, the garter and bouquet toss was never awkward. Girls even got in fights for them lol. I'll go with the traditional way
