Hotel overnight stays

If you put together a gift bag for your guests staying at the hotel, what did you put in them?  Also, did you use any specific website for the packaging/stickers?

I don't plan on doing them and will probably have very few (if any!) guests that would stay overnight in a hotel.

However, I recently attended a wedding  where all guests stayed overnight (it was semi-destination) and the welcome bag was a box, with a graphic label with winter trees and their names and the date on the box.  (The box looked like the box that Build A Bear bears come in, but plain white)

There was a tri-fold color program that included information of the area and what to do.

There was a bag of chips, a snickers bar, a small sewing kit, two airplane sized bottle of (flavored) vodka, two water bottles, a package of tissues, sample size of advil and like, alkaseltzer...and that's all I remember.

    Hope that helps!

I know exactly what you are talking about in regards to those boxes.  I saw them on etsy.com.  I am going to stick with gift bags as they are a little cheaper.  I LOVE what the couple put in the boxes.  That was VERY helpful!  Thank you!!!
  • I got these bags from Oriental Trading: http://www.orientaltrading.com/welcome-gift-bags-a2-3_3808-12-1.fltr?Ntt=welcome+to+our+wedding

    Inside I put:
    - A welcome note telling them important info like welcome cocktails, shuttle bus info, and morning after brunch times
    - 2 water bottles with labels I made with a kit I got at Michaels
    - Tastycake butterscotch crimpettes (the people who don't live in the area anymore loved them!)
    - Saltwater taffy I bought in bulk at Wegmans (my wedding was at the Jersey Shore so had to throw some in)
    - A package of cracker sandwiches (PB crackers, cheese crackers, etc)
    - 1-2 small packets of ibuprofin (you can get the packets through Staples here: http://www.staples.com/ibuprofen/directory_ibuprofen?autocompletesearchkey=ibuprofen)
    - 1 small bottle of travel sunscreen (to again go with the shore theme)

You don't have to go overboard with them.  I tried to tie some of the items in with the beach theme of my wedding.  Guests will appreciate anything you give them.  I always love getting bottles of water because after a long night of drinking I am completely dehydrated.  Snacks are good as well, especially if people have long rides home the next day.

LOVED all your ideas...very creative.  And thanks for that link - those bags are adorable!!!!
  • I got my bags from papermart.com ... I found them to be cheaper than anywhere else. The stickers I got from Vistaprint. I don't know what I'll be putting in them yet... Probably water bottles, chips, advil, etc.
  • We did bags and kept them pretty simple - got the bags from the dollar store, took a trip to BJ's to pick up water, snacks, etc. Ordered the advil and some Pepto tablets online (i think you can get them from Staples though too).   I did a DIY timeline that I tied to the bags with ribbon.
  • Like a few PP, I kept it simple.

I got the bags from Michaels with coupons. I put two bottles of water, some granola bars, pretzels, some tylenol packets (bought at Staples) and we had custom "Do Not Disturb" door hangers that were a hit.
