orchard wedding

Hi,

We are loking to do a wedding at an orchard in Michigan, NW Indiana, N. IL.  We are planning on less than 50 guests.  I love the idea of cider donuts, a hay ride for guests and some fun activities with some good food.

We do have such a small group and a goal to do this on a budget.  Any suggested venues?

I have been a little worried about gazebos in case it rains so the ground isnt wet.

I am looking from Boston, where I live, with a Fiance in California and our families in the midwest....so we are tying to look from the internet and checking with friends as best we can.

Katherine

Check out Country Mill in Potterville/ Charlotte, MI.  They recently started doing weddings, but they have an orchard, cider mill, etc.  You may also want to check Peacock Road Tree Farm in Laingsburg.  They are a christmas tree farm, but they do weddings as well.

Thank you so much!!!!!  I love the idea and apreciate the suggestions too.  I don't think its super popular, but it seems so fun and not super expensive.  The biggest proble has been some venues are just huge and want a head count for catering so much above what we will have.

There is also an apple orchard just north of St.Johns called St.Johns Cider Mill that has a great barn for a small reception. I've always thought it'd be beautiful to get married on one of their paths between the apple trees and they do have wagons and make cider and doughnuts as well as pies and pastries on site. You'd probably have to get a local to coordinate venders as I don't think they do a lot of private events but I'd bet they'd be really budget friendly if it wasn't during their busy season.  PM me if you want some suggestions for local venders/wedding coordinators.
