HELP! do they have to match?!

I am doing silk flowers for my wedding because I am not that into flowers and think it's a waste for me to spend that much on real ones that will die.  Florists and other wedding 'experts' insist on the entire wedding having matching, or coordinated flowers throughout.  Can I have an off-white silk bouquet with orchids, roses, and callas and have my bridesmaids (who are wearing cocktail David's bridal pool dress for the beach ceremony) have light pinkish cymbidium orchid bouquets?

They all have the same dress but I am not forcing them to have the same hairstyle, or earrings and the guys are all wearing a variety of ties that have the color 'pool' in them with their light tan suits.  I am anti-everyone matching everything for the wedding but I want to make sure I can have a completelyt different look for my bouquet as the girls (there are 9 bridesmaids and 10 groomsmen).

    Mine is pretty different; mine is all fire and ice roses.  They have a mixed bouquet of poinsettias, berries, pine etc with some roses mixed in (cream for the BM, fire and ice for the MOH).  If you want theirs to be different go for it - as long as it doesnt clash with something else at the ceremony who cares?

    Mine will be slightly different.  I'm using blue hydrangeas, white roses, green roses, and green cymbidium orchids for my bouquet.  The girls will be wearing green dresses and will have blue hydrangeas and a few green cymbidium orchids.  The guys have green cymbidium orchids and a few (2-3) blue hydrangea flowers in their bouts and my FI will have a green cymbidium orchid and slightly more blue hydrangea in his.  His will also have (likely) some curvy silver wire in his.

    I am with you...I hate when everything is matchy-matchy.  I only have two girls and they are wearing the same dress but I told them that they can wear their hair whichever way is comfortable and buy any shoe they like as long as it is in the silver family.

    I think your bouquet ideas are great!  Since both style bouquets have orchids they will coordinate with one another but not match.  Any way your the bride so you should have something a bit more special then your BMs.

    I am having all hot pink roses for my bouquet. My bridesmaids (7 ladies) are having all purple flowers (forgot what they are called) and my 2 MOH have a bouquet that is a mixture of both.
