Gifts for Shower Hosts

I need to go shopping tonight to get gifts for my shower hostesses this weekend.

Any ideas?

All I can think of is fancy soaps or candles.

Also, I'm starting to look for BM gifts. I know everyone says "shop like it's their birthday", but I'd love to hear your suggestions. My mom thinks I should get them something nice - like a vase from Crate and Barrel or something. Other people say to get tickets, or jewelry....

What would you want? Something nice and "grown up" or something fun?

I guess if it was me, I'd like a fancy set of glasses or something from a nice store... but maybe that's just me.

Please help! I'm burnt out on thinking of this kind of stuff for now...

It depends on their personalities but I always like gifts that are kind of grown up but have something fun too.  A friend gave me this beautiful Willowtree Angel for helping with her wedding but I also got a bottle of my fav. booze(hehe) and some stainless steele martini glasses (was in residence at the time and you can't have glass).  I thought it was really nice and really fun!

Hostess gifts I usually stick with something like candles, soaps, etc.

Well, you know I'm not the most traditional girl around.

I'm getting stuff from Etsy for everyone, because I love Etsy and I like supporting individuals. Plus, handmade, one-of-a-kind stuff is AWESOME.

    MOH is getting handmade windchimes.

Sister is getting a custom-made necklace.

Shower hostess is getting a suncatcher that matches her kitchen decor (she's got a beautiful big window in her kitchen/dining room).

I went for things that will last forever (potentially) and that are classy and suit their personalities.

I'd personally love a "grown-up" gift...  But...I guess it does depend on each person's personality and age even.  And I think a fancy set of glasses or something is actually fun too...

I think that grown-up gifts are fun.  I second Jeana's etsy vote!

I will get back to you on hostess gifts.  I am trying to brainstorm for mine as well.  It is difficult because MIL's best friend is hosting it with her 2 daughters.  I somewhat know 1 of the daughters, but the other one hates me.  She had a crush on DH for a long time, so...

I live in the North Dallas area so her store is less than an hour away and I really want to go see them in person!

For shower gifts to host/hostesses so far:
Couples shower:  We're going to Disney with the couple that threw us the shower, and we surprised them by paying for their share of our dinner at Cinderella's Castle.
Shower in a couple of weeks:  I got a personalized bath wrap, slippers, and cosmetic bag set in her favorite colors.
Shower next month:  It's a couple of my mom's friends, so since they're older I was going to do something more "grown-up" like a nice soap arrangement from Bath and Body Works.

Bridesmaid gifts:  I made them all necklaces to wear for the wedding (not a gift really, but sort of), and put them in really nice travel jewelry boxes that are in each girl's favorite color with their name.  I bought all of them parasols in their favorite colors (August in Savannah is brutal with the sun, and I figured that might make it better for them if we're outside much), and packaged it all in a nice little tote bag that's personalized in their favorite color.  For my Matron of Honor, I also got a really nice "Friends" frame that I plan to put a picture of us in and she can change it out for a wedding picture after they come back, and for my Maid of Honor I'm leaning towards a "Sisters" throw/blanket, since she will soon be my SIL.  Neither of us have another sister, so we're pretty excited about it.  Smile
