Allergic to Engagement ring. Advice?

So, I got my ring back in March. The reaction showed up around the end of April and I took it off for a little while, thought maybe I was just not used to it.  When I put it back on, my finger reacted to it right away.

To make a long story short, I am allergic to nickle, which is used in the rhodium that coats White Gold. I tried the clear nail polish thing and it doesn't help at all. Any ideas? Jewler recommendations in Columbus?

Found this online, post from a jeweler
"I would first arrange to have the ring rhodium plated. Ask the jeweler to dip the ring in the plating solution several times to ensure a good thick coating. This should not cost that much. A good solid rhodium plating will last about 5 years under normal circumstances"

Other posters suggested nail polish and hydrocortisone cream

Yeah I am allergic to nickle too and it sucks. Definetly try and get it dipped, my ring is white gold and it has to be dipped every year-ish to make it look pretty, but I bet they could do yours too, I would go to the jeweler and ask them.

Wait, isn't the dipping what she's saying she's allergic to??

I have no good suggestions . . . maybe they'll upgrade you to platinum if you bat your eyes, cry, something??? ;)  Doesn't hurt to try!

    Good luck!

Oh idk, I am super allergic to nickle and my ring is dipped and it doesn't bother me, it is when all the dipping comes off that i start breaking out.

I would go to Diamond Cellar. Ask to talk with John Smith, the lead graduate gemologist. He may have a solution. You may want to look into a higher karat and perhaps into yellow gold. I have allergies with nickel as well. A higher karat content may help with your reactions. Ask about a nickel free solution. Titanium is a whiter metal with low nickel content too.
I know gold is the thing, but maybe platinum could be an option.
Definitely go to Diamond Cellar off of Sawmill Rd in Dublin. Talk to John Smith.
