How long will you FI be living together on your marriage day? How long did you date before you moved in?

FI and i are waiting till be get married before we live together. I've been living on my own (w/o a roommate) for over 3 years now. Its the biggest thing i'm 'worried' about. I'm gonna have to share :-p

My fiance and I moved in together a year after we started dating, which ended up being a couple months before the engagement and just over a year before the wedding. I never thought I'd live with someone before marriage (for fear that my mom would kill me, or at least not pay for the wedding!),but in the end, it was so much more practical and we saved a ton of money. And since I was 26 years old at the time with a college degree and a good job, my parents were totally okay with it!

Yah, when we got engaged in Jan we both had leases. Mine goes until the end of July and his the end of Jan. SO i'm moving into our place first and then he is subleases his. At the end of the day it didn't make much sense to move in together. It would only be maybe a month if we did. FI preferred not too, so we didn't.

I wasn't worried abt my parents. They wouldn't care but his would.

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't advocate that either way is better. I think it is different for every couple and depends on a lot of factors. I'm happy with our situation and have no regrets, but I don't think it's necessary to live together to see if it can work (like a lot of people say).

we will offically be moved in together this weekend!! We've been engaged since Feb 13 and together a year since March 28!!

Congrats mz!

David and I moved in together about a month after we started dating, and we've been together about 5 1/2 years. He kept his own apartment for about 6 months but we slept there maybe once after he brought his stuff over. He was a pig and I didn't want to stay in a place where there were rotting bowls of Ramen on the floor, lol!

FI and I had dated for about a year before we moved in together and will have been living together for around 2 1/2 years when we get married.

We dated for two and a half years before moving in together and will have lived together a total of 3 years by the time we get married. I worried about my parents too, but since I was moving to Colorado and he already lived there, they were ok with it. My mom liked that I was safer with him than on my own and my dad appreciated the practicality of only paying for one place!

My FI moved in with me 3 months after we started dating! He lived 2 hours away so he was always staying with me anyway. We are in the procress of buying a house now that we will obviously be living in before we get married!

We won't be living together until after the wedding. I would love to live together, but he lives in St. Louis and is in a contract with his job until next July (2 weeks AFTER the wedding in fact). The only way we will live together before then is if he decides to quit his job to go into another field and move to KC.

Well I've been daing my FI for a LONG TIME almost 16 years, so we've lived together pretty much since I moved to KS. We lived apart for about 6 months while I worked in KC and he finished his degree at K-State. By the time we are married we will have lived in our house for a little over 5 years but we've lived together before we owned this house. Yes we were high school sweethearts.
