Gardens!

I spent the day cleaning my yard, and now I'm feeling all garden-y.
What are you planting this year? Tell me about vegetables and seeds and show me pictures of pretty flowers you are going to grow.

I havnt 100% decided on my plants. I have ordered Great White, Snow White, Black Cherry, Striped Monastery, Hillbilly, Carbon, Green Giant, Rose & Bush Beefsteak tomatoes, and I have 17 garlics growing in the garden already. I plan to do green onions, parisian carrots, and I dunno what else yet. For herbs, I plan to do oregano, mint, thyme, rosemary and chives (which are already growing). In the garden, I got 2 hydrangea bushes to plant near the rando one we found last year (if I can find it now that its dead), I also want to plant lavender and some more clematis.

Edit: I need to re-read my companion gardening book to figure out what to plant in my garden boxes with the garlic, tomatoes and carrots.

I've got carrots, eggplant, broccoli, cauliflower, lots of tomatoes (9), peas, beans, herbs and lettuces galore, a little corn, strawberries, spaghetti squash, butternut squash, baby pumpkins, and bell peppers.

My flower beds have tulips, day lilies, and roses

My deck flower boxes will have moonflowers, violas, and jaguar marigolds

  • Nebb and Anna, what do you do with all those tomatoes?

I'm assuming they all look/taste different?

    I have:

*tiny tomatoes to add to salads, and to eat while I'm gardening.  Snackin' tomatoes!
*big slicing tomatoes that are great for on sandwiches, diced, and in recipes
    *romas for canning spaghetti sauce
  • This will be my first garden this year! YAY!

    I am planting...
    2 kinds of tomatoes
    Pumpkins
    Carrots
    Lettuce
    Green Onions

Hopefully this snow will go away so I can get things in the ground!
