  • Dang, that is a long day!  Honestly, I think you have a lot of time dedicated to pictures.  We are doing our first look 2 hrs before our 4:30 ceremony, then about an hr of WP pics and some immediate family pictures, before relaxing for the last 30 mins before the ceremony.  Then we plan to have maybe another 30 mins of pics afterwards.  Our first look is only taking 15 mins.

The funny thing is that, every wedding I've ever been in has been an all day event.  I've been surprised looking at a lot of the day of schedules that aren't all day.  I wonder if this is a local thing.

Well, mine is an all day thing too, but it's like 9:30-10:30 for my BP.   I've never had to be at the location at 7:30 am and the wedding go all the way until midnight.  I think the earliest I've had to get my hair done was 8:30 or 9, and most weddings would end by 11.  (All of which were in Iowa)

Regardless, of that minor 2 hour difference, I think you should consult your photographer.  He/she will know how long to account for pictures.  I thought we wouldn't have enough time, and my photographer assured me that 30 mins would be more than enough for our candids, and the WP pics can be done in 30 or so mins too.  Granted I'm not traveling afterwards, I still think that 4 hrs (give or take) for photos before is a lot.  But that is mearly my opinion.
